Among the items I inherited from my grandmother was a Timex watch without the stretchy metal band. My aunt had a similar watch and wanted the band, which was fine with me since I'm not a huge fan anyway, plus my wrist is much larger.
I'm loving the look of the bracelet watches where people have made a beautiful bracelet from colourful beads and charms and used those for the watch band.
How did you attach the bracelet to the watch securely? I don't want to lose the watch.
I did find that one person used the clasps from the Trollbeads and Pandora bracelets as well as the silver bracelet. I could do that. I already use two trollbead clasps to attach my medic alert tag to my trollbead bracelet and wear it 24/7.
I also want to buy a trollbead silver chain in 18 inches and wear some of my charms as a necklace.
I'm not completely sure I want to use the Trollbeads/Pandora because I love the vintage silver charms and rhinestones that won't fit on the trollbeads chain. I want to do something different and unique.
I also have a vintage rhinestone bracelet of my mothers that is too small for me to wear. I've been looking for a rhinestone brooch to extend the length and dress the bracelet up a bit. The rhinestones look like mystic topaz--the dark greenish purple ones that change in the light and with movement. I've been looking for similar beads or brooches for a few years now, and the colour is very rare. They're gorgeous and are really vintage while looking quite modern at the same time.

I used monofilament and crimp beads.

I saw an idea on Pinterest using old watches some time back. I really like the idea of wearing old watch faces as a bracelet. I have my grandmother's, a great aunt's, and a few from my mom. I might have to add one or two to get the right length but I'm not sure. I just think it's a really great look. I also like this idea for inserting an old photo of the watch's original owner.

There are a few ways to do it. What does the end of the watch look like? It'd be easier to give you ideas if I cpukd see that.
I make more bracelets for people using sentimental old costume jewelry I've done 3 watches but I didn't keep pictures of those.
If it's the kind with the spiring bar you can use a row of small jump rings around the spring bar. Or you could alter the end that you'd use to clamp on ribbon or fabric to put the latch. I'd have better ideas if I saw it.

Those bracelets are really cute! I think I'm going to have to make myself one! I have a couple of old watches.

My watch looks like the gold watch on the left in Spongemom's second photo.
The watchface has a circular opening on the tip of both ends of the face. I could easily clip on of the Trollbead claps to each end or use a jump ring and a gold link bracelet.
I do really like gold and silver together.
The watch works, it just needs a new battery. I haven't put a battery in it for several years because I was in school when my grandmother died, and I am very hard on my jewelry, so I didn't want to break or lose the watch. I've kept the watch in my memento box, and now that small vintage watches are in style, I'll get a new battery and start wearing it.
Trollbeads also sells security chains, which I will definitely purchase to ensure that nothing gets lost if the bracelet breaks.

Oh, that's easy then, you just use a jump ring thru the hole to attach your bracelet.

Can you use your Mother's bracelet and restring it as a bracelet for your watch? That would give you the best of both worlds.

It would be neat if all of the faces kept time/worked, and then it wouldn't matter if the bracelet slid around on your wrist!
That's an issue I have with watches, and bracelets.
