I have signed up for emails from a few online sites. Somehow they decided I need 2 and 3 emails a day sometimes. I am not talking anywhere in particular. (Michaels, Laura.ca, Landsend.com, Zappos, A Cherry on Top, and many, many others).
I have gone back and Unregistered myself from receiving email. I am still receiving email. One email a week doesn't bother me. The 3x day is getting on my nerves. If they had something to say other than "Here is the same product we sent you yesterday and your discount is X be sure to shop early for best selection."
I have changed my email preferences 3x sometimes. I don't get it!

I have an email account that I use for shopping so all those go to it instead of my real email. I'm annoyed by the printed catalogs they decide to start sending me. I'm about to tell them either stop sending the paper catalogues or lose me as a customer.

I have a similar problem with JoAnn's. I changed my email and it wouldn't take on their site, so I started a new account.
Since then I have unsubscribed I don't know how many times with my old email both from their site and through the MANY emails that I receive. I also sent an email to customer service who said they would take care of it. Nope. It's my old email, so not a huge deal, but still annoying as I have taken my time at least ten times to unsubscribe and the damn things keep coming.

I agree with having a dedicated email for signing up on sites, etc. When I have to give a name with my email for places I'm not thrilled to get emails from, I use a different spelling of my first name. Then I know when they've sold my email/mailing address because I get offers with that weird spelling.
For the emails that I really want to get, I use a different spelling. So I can tell at a glance in my inbox which offers I really want to pay attention to and which ones I didn't really sign up for myself.
I have a secret email that only friends and family get.
Y'all wouldn't believe how many emails places send out these days. I have over 100k emails in my inbox. 99.9% of them are spam.

I am beyond over stores sending emails. I use a junk email for more stuff but I hve made the mistake in the past of using my good email for a couple Of places I *thought* I wanted offers/ info from. It would have been true except like the OP mentioned some Places will send multiple emails a day or even one daily or even three/four per week. Why? Why would They think we want that much contact?! Even the places I like I have I unsubscribed because it's so overboard and ridiculous!

Couldn't agree more! I don't need 2-3 e-mails a day from one company. Either I want to read it or I don't.
I've also had a problem unsubscribing so I hit the spam button to delete and it usually pops up "report spam and unsubscribe".

Just send the emails to spam and thereafter all mail from that source should automatically go to your spam box.

I hear you! Honestly, the more a company emails me, the less likely I am to even look at them. I think once a week is even too much. Once a twice or month would be best.
Do you all remember Lillian Vernon catalogs? They were like the spam email of catalogs!

I have Hotmail and all junk goes to the junk folder. Only those that I allow go to my inbox. I really don't care how much spam is in the junk folder, I don't have to look at it.

Spam accounts, accounts that created to hide shenanigans from spouses, partners, parents and bosses, forgotten passwords so just make a new one...there must be gazillions of them out there.

Spam accounts, accounts that created to hide shenanigans from spouses, partners, parents and bosses, forgotten passwords so just make a new one...there must be gazillions of them out there. Guilty. I have some for scrapbooking. Two for business. Some for day to day correspondence. One old gaming one. And a picture sharing one with the ILS. Then there are 20-30 I had over 10 years which I have just forgotten my password.

one email a day from some places is mildly annoying, two is annoying, three or more obnoxious. I have refused to give my email to stores because past experience is they email too much.
and yes, the unsubscribe functions do not always work....but being the one who sets up emails for my workplace to go out, sometimes I set them up a day or two in advance, so if you were to unsubscribe from ours, in that case it might be a day or two before you are removed.
