I do the laundry for us. I like doing laundry for some reason. I hate folding it, but separating colours, putting it in the machine, adding soap (the kind of soap I like), transferring clothes and towels to the drier or hanging them on our wooden clothes racks is just something I like to do. Cooking? Not so much. I do it, but I don't like it. Well, I got the laundry done today. My last load had a pair of my mom's jeans in the load. Goodness help me there were a couple of Kleenexes in the pocket which I forgot to look for. I seldomly use Kleenex for whatever reason so I know I haven't put any in my clothes. Mom? She always has a tissue no matter where she is...''My BLACK load is sprinkled with white snowflakes...UGH! I love my mom and this has nothing to do with dementia. It does have everything to do with being blonde, though

I am guilty of the same thing. Luckily I don't wash anyone's clothes but mine. I hate it when I leave tissues in my pockets but luckily most of it will come off in the dryer. Just be sure to clean the lint trap an extra time about 20 minutes after the load starts, otherwise you will waste extra energy when the dryer tries to blow hot air through all those tissue pieces.

I have horrible allergies and use a lot of tissues. I buy Puffs Extra Stong tissues. For the most part, they wash intact. Plus I only need one.

My DH had a laundry experience at the weekend that turned out to be very expensive. He had picked up a camera bag on Freecycle, and washed it as it was a bit stale. However, he forgot to take it out of the machine, and put a white load in after it. Naturally everything came out a greyish-blue, including his lovely new Timberland t-shirt. So he decided to drive to the Timberland outlet store about 40 minutes away to get a new one. On the way back, he was unsure what exit to take at a roundabout, was in the wrong lane, and someone smashed into the side of his beloved MX5. He has an excess of £300 on his car insurance, so the whole thing was way worse than just a bit of blue dye!

I do this every single load. NOT a big deal. Not even a blip on my radar. Just throw it in the dryer and it takes care of it.

I'm the only one in our house who uses kleenex and although I check my pockets when putting pants into the laundry hamper EVERY TIME, I swear, I still manage to find kleenex bits in a load of laundry about once a month. I think a little gremlin lives in my laundry hamper, climbs out and finds a stray kleenex, drags it back to its lair and stuffs it into a pocket. And always my pockets of course.

I would get some hankies. This will save the laundry. I wash my clothes separately because of others in the house that like bubble gum. Our dryer has several areas of left over gum and some clothes are permanently speckled in gum.

I have two sons. I learned early on as a mom to check every pocket in every load. Every time.
