If you scrap at your kitchen table what do you with your "in process" layout. I'm thinking of trying to scrap in the kitchen area (near the LR) to be closer to family, but am wondering what to do with that project when I've finished working in the evening until the next time. I would like something I could put the whole thing in and just move back to the 'scrap area". Thanks,

When I didn't have a dedicated scrap room, I would put my in process layouts in a 12x12 iris case. They are sturdy, lightweight, and can lock to keep the kids out.

I use a variety of things, depending on what I have around. Right now, I'm using: - vintage cookie sheet. They are flat around 2-3 edges. And are CLEAN! - shallow "tray" from a Michael's white scrapbooking storage cube - sheet of corrugated cardboard from a scrapbooking order - Cocoa Daisy "pizza box" that my kit was shipped in.

I have a room but I don't like scrapping in there. I scrap at the coffee table or kitchen table. I do have a small desk in my room, so I just transport it back to the room and leave it on there. Or I have a project case and put it all in there.

I scrap all over my house these days and use a big 15x18 tray I got at Target to hold my in-progress project and supplies. I leave it on my piled scrap table in my craft room when I have to "put away" my project. You could designate a shelf somewhere in your kitchen to house your tray when not in use.

Iris boxes are great for that. They also make a tray that fits inside (at Michaels) for small items.
Love the other suggestions, too. I have a 14 x 14 cutting mat, so I sometimes scoot everything onto that and put it away on a shelf or on top of the Iris box.

I have a scrap room, but tend to have a few things going on at once that I don't particularly like leaving out where my preschooler could get into it. On Ali Edwards blog she has a tall bakery bun rack on wheels in her studio that she uses to store her in-progress projects. Blayne White borrowed the idea and shows a shorter one in a YouTube video of her scrap room, that's the size I think I want. It holds ten good sized metal trays with enough space in between that it would easily hold all kinds of stuff and looks to be about counter height tall. It can be wheeled over to the table when I'm working and wheeled out of the way when I'm not. The trays also come all the way out if I only wanted to pull out one project. I want to sew a skirt to go around mine when I get it which will help hide the stuff on it. If you have to work in a shared space or don't want to leave things out, it might be a good solution.

Great suggestions. I have a craft room but sometimes want to work at the dining table so may need to organise a tray or a case.

I have a couple of project tubs - they are a little deeper than the Iris cases - I also sometimes use the page planners that have pockets for the little bits and pieces. I have curious kitties who love shiny things, so I can't use an open tray or bin, since my scrap room doesn't have a door to close the cats outs.

My 2 are the main reason I keep my scrap stuff in our guest room and not in our more open basement family room area. Their favorite toy is my ATG - every time they have access to my supplies, they chew the exposed tape and I have to reload it. Gotta love 'em.

I have a scrap room it work in. But I have a nice big tray I bought at Marshall's that I use to keep everything I'm working on together. If I move to the living room or any other area I just grab the tray. It works good.

I use a plastic box - I scrap 8.5x11" and I think my box is probably 9x12x2 or something like that. it's from Walmart and was only a couple of dollars - I have several I use for different purposes but one purpose is to hold an in-progress project.

I use a 12x12 Iris box for in progress projects. I have a couple that I keep supplies in for on-going albums like Disney and school. I just keep anything unfinished for those albums thrown in with the supplies and I have one just for unfinished miscellaneous layouts.

I like the 12x12 Iris cases too--but there are some great ideas here.

I use my Page in Progress box with the little magnets. Works like a charm as I can box the whole thing up and put it in my crop bag when I'm away from home. At home I use my scrap easel for the same thing.

I kept several of those 12 x 12 three drawer Sterilite plastic units in my storage closet back when I scrapped in my dining room, and I always kept one drawer for the "in process" layouts.
Everything is in storage now until we move again, but I'll probably use the same system if I ever get my own space.
