This makes me sick.
Molly Shattuck, Ex-NFL Cheerleader, Sentenced to 48 Weekends in Jail for Rape
by Erik Ortiz
The ex-Baltimore Ravens cheerleader who pleaded guilty to having sex with an underage boy she met on social media was sentenced Friday to 48 weekends in jail.
Molly Shattuck, 48, appeared to sob as a Delaware judge ordered that she serve every other weekend in jail for two years. The judge also ordered that Shattuck pay the victim's family $10,650 and register as a sex offender, according to NBC affiliate WBAL.
"I will spend the rest of my life making this right," she said.
The family of the 15-year-old victim told the judge that Shattuck's actions have been "devastating" for their son, the station reported.
The Baltimore socialite, fitness author and mother of three pleaded guilty in June to fourth-degree rape as part of a deal with prosecutors.
Investigators say she had oral sex with a 15-year-old boy last Labor Day weekend at a beach house in Delaware.
The boy, whom she had first contacted through Instagram, attended the same school as her son, police said.
An official at the children's school went to Baltimore County police after learning about the sexual encounter.
Shattuck — the estranged wife of Mayo Shattuck, a Baltimore businessman and the chairman of energy company Exelon Corp. — became the oldest NFL cheerleader in history when the Ravens hired her in 2005. She was 38.
Every other weekend in jail for the next two years? Really? That's it?

She needs to be locked up, and the key tossed.

We all know if the headline had been "Former NFL Player arrested for sex with teenage girl" the sentence would be years.

I'm not sure it's a double standard. It's a totally ridiculous, soft sentence, but we see that plenty in situations like this, regardless of the gender of the offender. When the victim is a teen and there's no (overt) violence, we see BS like this way too often.

Shameful. My heart breaks for that boy and his family.
I'm disgusted.

This is not equal rights in action. Quite the opposite. I am not a feminist to make sure female rapists get to be treated DIFFERENTLY after raping a teenager.

The judge sentenced the teacher to serve only days of a 15 year jail sentence because the girl was "as much in control of the situation" as her abuser. The young lady committed suicide. It is seen far too often that it depends on the judge, who the perpetrator is and how the victim is perceived. Montana's idiotic judge

She's a pedophile just as the Duggar guy is. I'm sorry, but no normal adult wants anything to do with a 15 year old kid. If is wrong and gross and normal people would think the same way.
My kid is 14 and I would be pissed. The emotional scars from shit like this are lasting.

15 year olds are kids. 3 years ago they were building legos and playing w/Pokemon cards. She needs a life sentence just like any sex criminal.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. How does the judge even defend a sentence like that? And so bizarre... I didn't even know going to jail every other weekend was a thing.

It's appalling, , but the double standard comes with the NFL as much as any other gauge. She is not being punished as harshly as as she would if she was a typical mother of a fellow student at that school. But I bet she is being judged as such!!!
