I read Toy Cameras by Kevin Meredith and loved it though it's left me with an even longer list of toy cameras I just have to have! I haven't really had time to read anything else this week. You mentioned in the last reading thread that you were interested to hear my take on The Good Neighbor. You were right---it's not great. I ended up putting it down at about the halfway point, as I had three holds come in from the library. Thank you It had some really great reviews and I wondered if it was just me being overly critical.

Last night, I finished Jodi Picoult's latest, Leaving Time. It left me a blubbering mess, and in true Picoult fashion, there was a twist I did not see coming. I recommend this one, especially if you like elephants. If you don't like elephants, you may not enjoy this one, as there is a lot of technical info about them, which I found interesting to read about. 5/5 stars. Happy reading, everyone! I am a huge Jodi Picoult fan, I have read everyone of her books. I had a hard time getting into this one but ended up enjoying it. The ending really through me for a loop, I totally did not see that coming!!!

This week, I am reading Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin. I started a book blog that will be about books from ages newborn to 150. You are welcome to check it out. I finished Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, and gave it 5 out of 5 stars. It is such a sweet story and made me feel good about my own life. Read to your babies

I just finished reading Under a War-Torn Sky by L.M. Elliott. It is a historical fiction based on her father's stories about being behind enemy lines during WWII and working with resistance fighters. I loved it and gave it 5 out of 5 stars. I also updated my book blog with Friday Favorites: Don and Audrey Wood

I don't usually play, but I read "The Invention of Wings" and I really was disappointed. I can't put my finger on why, but I didn't like it much. I think I'm alone in this.

I went on vacation and had a 10 hour flight so I had lots of time to read!
I read Orphan #8 in two days and it was so good! A story about a young girl in an orphan home who had experiments done on her that later in life affects her. Now grown, she is a nurse in a home and ends up having to treat the doctor who did the experiments on her. She has to make a choice on how to treat her. There is much more to the story, go read the description on Amazon. But it was really good and based on true events.

It was just OK in my opinion. I did at least finish reading it, but I've read so many other books that are much better.

I just went to Amazon to look for Leaving Time and discovered it is $1.99 on Kindle. Done! Thanks for the recommendation.

I read The Help many years ago. However, I just watched the movie this week. Wow. Just wow!!!! It was simply amazing - better than the book. The scenes in there where Abilene tells the little girl - "You is pretty, you is smart, you is im-potent." They came across so beautifully in the movie. Tears. I highly recommend it. Lisa
