Good morning peas! My sister is pregnant and I'm helping her with her registry. (actually I'm pretty much doing all of it, she gets a bit overwhelmed) so I'd like some input from the peas as to what you love, hate, can't live without, etc....
Thanks!

I had twins that loved their Rock N Plays.
I joined a "what to expect when having multiples" board before they were born and that item was hands down the most talked about item mentioned. When my boys slept thru the night in them, from 2 months on, I had to agree. Heaven sent!!

baby parka
depending if you live in a cold climate or warm climate and when your sister is due.... but if she is having a winter baby, baby parka is an amazing product. they have a whole line but the infant car seat cover is my go-to wedding shower girl. canadian company but ship worldwide. (their product was selected on the dragon's den tv show)

A good electric breast pump. Even if she doesn't plan on pumping every single day, she might want breast milk in the freezer in case she has to go on short term meds & has to pump & dump, or if she wants the baby fed breast milk when she's out on a date or girls' night.

I love Aden and Anais swaddle blankets and Trumpette socks as my go to baby gift. But for gear I love the Boon Flair high chair or the cheap 20.00 ikea one. I got my sister a City Select double stroller but if money where no object I love the Orbit Baby carseat system but not the stroller so I'd get a Bugagoo Runner. I live in the city and my sister in the burbs so stroller choices I think are the ones that require the most research and thought. No recommendations. Just going and physically trying them out.
Other useless baby crap I love:
Mesh feeders Bandanna bibs...works much better than traditional bibs because it catches the drool on the chin Anything by Nui or Tea

Halo Sleep Swaddlers when they're newborn & their sleep sacks for after. DS actually wore one until almost age 2 when he finally was too long for them. The fleece ones are awesome for winter time.
Flannel covered cloth diapers to use as burp cloths. They soak up the spit up better than anything and they're my go-to gift to make for new parents. Even now I keep one in my car incase of a spill, potty accident, etc.
Wait to see if her insurance co. will pay for an electric pump. Mine did, and it was perfectly serviceable. I'm glad I didn't she'll out the cash for one!
The Honest Company diapers (sold online or at Target only) are so cute and work great. I've been gifting those lately too.
A soft-sided carrier. Not a Bjorn. They're murder on your back and the hip positioning for baby isn't the best.
A bouncy seat, preferably one that vibrates. We had a Fisher Price lamb one that had a high weight limit on it. I wouldn't have showered or eaten or cooked without it. Ha. Bonus is it's super portable if you want to move it around the house, unlike a swing.i
A lighter weight collapsible stroller like the Britax one or City Mini. LOVE my Britax. The city mini is almost identical, but a little more expensive.

I'm due in December and I've been looking at the Rock n Play because a lot of my friends recommend it but there have been some negative reports out there about using it for night sleeping (just an FYI). Sounds great for the daytime though. With my daughter the must haves were: - Jumperoo: When she was big enough for one she LOVED it and I knew I would get a solid 20 minutes to get some things done. - Sleep sacks - Formula pitcher: If she ends up using formula this thing was awesome for mixing up a day's worth of bottles at once. It was my husband's job to mix up the next day's bottles for daycare and this thing was awesome. - Table covers: I loved these for the baby was older when we went out to eat. - Disposable changing covers: Public changing tables can be pretty gross.

Ergo baby carrier. I loved mine!
Reusable placemats for eating in restaurants.
Sleep sacks have already been mentioned a couple of times, but they're great.

Metal framed backpack to carry baby in. We used it for all of our kids. Even wore it to do chores like laundry when your arms are full and you keep moving from one room to the next.
Vibrating, reclining baby seat.
Diaper Genie.

I wish I would have not registered for a jumperoo, swing, bouncy seat, etc.. My son only liked the jumperoo and so all the others went unused and were a total waste. They can't use them right away anyway, so I would strongly recommend trying them out when the baby is old enough and see what they like, THEN buy them, rather than getting them all now and running the risk of using them once.
I loved loved loved my Maclaren stroller for when the baby is just a little older.
I wish I'd listened to the advice not to get the stroller that goes with the infant car seat and instead get the car seat and a stroller frame. So much less bulky and way more convenient.

DS really liked the jumperoo, best $10 garage sale purchase ever! The boppy pillow got a lot of use too, I hated it for nursing but it was great to lay him down on next to me on the couch, put around him when he just started sitting (on the floor), etc.
My other advice is if you have a big house, get multiples of some things. It was a godsend to have a pack n play w/ changer downstairs where we spent the majority of our day, the crib and changing table were upstairs (and I know a lot of people will say to skip the changer, we used ours until he was 3! so much easier than bending down to change him on the floor/bed). We also had 2 bouncy seats, one for in the bathroom upstairs for when I showered. And 2 jumperoo/exersaucer contraptions, again, one in the master bedroom where he hung out while we were getting ready for work, the other in the family room.
