I was reading up on the 21 Day Fix diet program. My friend has been on it for 2 weeks and lost 10 pounds already. I was going to give it a go until I saw the price of the containers that come with it. Crazy! I was wondering if any of you have successfully used a certain brand etc that would have sizes equal to what the diet ones are and don't cost a fortune. I've read reviews of some containers leaking etc. I thought someone would have a suggestion.

I looked into this diet but didn't want to spend the money on plastic containers. I found the following conversion:
Veggies (green) 1 cup Fruits (purple) 1 cup Protein (red) 3/4 cup Starches/carbs (yellow) 1/2 cup Fats (blue) 1/3 cup Dressings (orange) 2 tablespoons
Use your measuring cups and put your food into whatever containers you use at home.
You can also google to find out how many servings of each colored container you are to eat based on the total calories for your weight loss goals.

I have the containers and don't like them so I use them for our 4 dogs food to have it dished and ready for the next meal. How terrible is that? LOL! freeatlast, thanks for the breakdown!

I have the one set of containers that came with the system, but I only use the tiny orange ones on a regular basis. The red and blue I use as measuring cups.
I use Rubbermaid Lunch Blox containers.
The small squares are 1/2 cup, so they are good for yellows and blues (with extra room) The rectangles are 1 cup, so I use them for greens, purples and reds (with extra room) The sandwich containers I use for an entree, then I dump it on a paper plate at work to microwave in. The salad containers hold a decent sized salad.
I have a boat-load of the containers, so I can prep most of my lunch things on Sunday. I also use them for DH's lunch and the boys when they are in school.

Freeatlast... I also found a conversion chart as well. It was slightly different. I don't think it matters too much. This person measured using her official containers. The only differences were green and purple were 1 1/4 c and the blue was 1/4.
I know that I can get any containers and just mark the color and amount allowed onto the container. I just thought a certain kind might simplify it all.
PATTER, you've very funny!!!!
