I saw this and it literally makes me sick to my stomach. It is hard for me to wrap my head around people out there thinking this makes sense.

That is such a horrific story. How can anyone want to punish someone like that? Praying that the girls will be safe.

Good grief. How exactly does this punish the brother? The caste system is mediaeval and in this instance, barbaric.

You know, I wish the US would step up and say *no more money for India*. Maybe then change would happen. If not, we'll keep some of our hard-earned tax dollars here. JMHO.

Not just raped but repeatedly gang raped.......the caste system thinking is so shocking and barbaric that it defies belief! I just hope that the Supreme Court in India intervenes to protect these girls.

Horrific. Isn't there someone, the UN or something, that can rescue these girls?
What a freaking warped version of "an eye for an eye"!?!
What kind of horrible human beings come up with this idea and what kind of horrible human beings carry it out?
OMG. I can't...

This is so sad. I already read an article this morning about child brides in Bangladesh. I wonder if some of this stems from modern idea of marital choice is meeting an older culture of control and premium on virginity.

I have no words, but I hope & pray for their safety, and the safety of the brother's wife since they fear she may be in danger as well.

How has no one mentioned that the brother's "crime" was not even a real crime!?! This is all because he married someone outside his caste.

Realizing how terrible some of the world is, just breaks my heart. I wish we could change parts of it faster -- human rights need to transcend cultures.

I recently did some research on the caste system for one of my classes and it is unbelievable how human beings treat one another, simply because they are born into different castes.
I hope SOMEONE steps in to protect these girls.

How terrible. I can't even begin to imagine how scared the sisters must be. Prayers for their safety. It's hard to imagine that this could even happen in 2015.
It makes me grateful to be born in America.

It doesn't happen just in India sadly.
