Wow, I have never experienced a Trader Joe's like that! We don't have any here, but when we go to the beach we stop at one on the way and it's never crowded like that. I agree with the idea that if the person can do that without inconveniencing anyone else at all, then good on them. But it really does sound like a challenge.

Just yesterday I forgot to grab milk as I was getting in line. I ran to get my milk and really booked it because of that thread.

I don't know, it seems kind of dishonest.

It's a smart way to shop, but you would be limited to the isles the line snakes through. I would never leave the isle my cart is in to get something.

Lol, I had to hit Costco Saturday AM and was really pressed for time. Only needed two things, new exactly where they were. Left my teen in line, with instructions to let people in front of her but to STAY in line. Grabbed was back just as she let a huge cart in front of her. That lady let me cut back in, with my two items. Made it to where I was going with five minutes to spare.

Our TJ, even when at peak times (Saturday's ) has the line ever wrapped around the store, and when lines get more than a few people, the open up more! We've never had to wait long to cash out. There are the traffic jams in produce and frozen food a where hubby and I will park cart and grab what we want and come back to cart !

I've done something similar at Walmart for Black Friday. After getting the "hot" items that we had to wait in line for throughout the store,, I put one of my teens in line for the movies that take forever to get through. Then I left to get other items that were not as in demand, returning in periodically to put stuff in the cart. Sometimes I would stay with the cart and she would go hunt for something, and we stayed in touch by cellphone to keep track of how the line was moving. Whoever was the n line when the cart got to the movie display would be reaponsible for getting the ones we had on our list. On the meantime, DH and the other girls would get in one of the endless checkout lines and claim their place in line, and we would all join up for one big checkout.

Hey, at a store as busy as what that person described, maybe they should have everyone shop that way. Walk in with you cart, and get into one big line that goes up and down every aisle and ends up at the check-out. It would be like conveyor belt shopping.

This is how it feels to shop at Aldi when they're busy! I always pray I don't forget anything cause it's so hard to go back for something against the flow of traffic.
