I did mine last fall but am constantly reorganizing, purging, etc... Don't think it's ever over for me. I started my process by getting rid of all the old office furniture in a spare bedroom. Painted the walls a really nice seaglass blue. Went to The Container Store and bought an Elfa desk wall unit that I absolutely love. The weekend before Christmas I had a scrapbook garage sale and got rid of just about EVERYTHING except for my Stampin' Up! products I use as my business. It was the best feeling getting rid of supplies I hadn't used in years. Then on Christmas Eve (Elfa annual sale started) I drove back down to Orlando to The Container Store to get shelving and drawers to redo my closet. I'd love to do my other wall in another Elfa wall desk unit...maybe one day in the near future. I'm so jealous that you have the container store. When I go to Florida, I love going to that store - I can only take home (to Canada) what will fit in my trunk (we drive down), but there are always so many things I want to get that I can't take home. I saw that they had a 20% off sale on everything last weekend and it really sucked that I had to miss out on that. They ship to Canada but our exchange rate is so ridiculous right now that it's too expensive.
I used to keep photos in an Iris container like the one mentioned above, but I did Library of Memories and got rid of it - now I'm regretting it!! It looks perfect for embellishments.
I know...I grew up in Dallas where Container Store is based and went there all the time. Just assumed every city had one too! haha.... I'm hoping Jax gets one next year though I may be in BIG trouble if one is actually in the city I live in.

The Container Store is my happy place. My Granma introduced me when I was 19 and I have never looked back. I am still using most of the Elfa pieces I purchased then, 22-23 years ago. I have moved them at least 10 times since then and I just rearrange and add to it each time. Currently our garage, pantry, laundry, office, craft and master closets are using the Elfa we have collected through the years. At their annual sale after Christmas this year we plan to add it to the downstairs closet, after it is renovated to be more than the pitiful 2 ft wide it is now. Can't wait! LOL, all of that to say if anyone is considering it I can not recommend it highly enough. And as a matter of fact, the furniture in my craft room is 3 sets of their Skandia shelves and a desk. We purchased it in 1993-2000 and it is still in amaking shape. It's the shelving they use throughout their stores and is also easy to change as your needs do. Unfortunately, it no longer suites my tastes or many of my wants. I am desperate need of lots of drawers and I would like white and or black furniture. So when I decide what to replace it with, I will be in your shoes! Not quite as much fun because I go through different craft items along the way so haven't needed a big craft purge in years. The bigger purge will be when I add another wall and some drawers of Elfa in the closet, and get rid of the Iris drawers I have there now. But I envy you! Growing up I took out everything on New Years Eve day and purged, reorganized and cleaned every spot of the room before putting my belongings back. For about 8 years after I moved out DH and I did the same thing on a grander scale by moving on New Years Day. In the process of packing we would purge, fix and clean everything and then move into a clean apartment. It was fabulous! Now that we've owned our own home for 7 years, our belongings are piling up. Even going through them over time as we do, it's not the same. I envy you the fresh start in your room and looked forward to hearing about your progress
