I have been suffering with an annoying almost daily headache. I tried things which my Dr. recommended extra caffeine and stop using pain relievers like Advil etc... so I did both of those things but did not work. Went back for a follow up and this time she told me to take 600mg of Motrin 3 times a day like morning, noon, and night for 3 days in a row. It worked while I was taking it but I do not want to take that much Motrin everyday for days and days.
Is there anything that you have tried or done to get rid of headaches? and keep them away...

Try Magnesium Citrate. Another thought would be a 1/2 cup of warm water with a 1/4 tsp of sea salt (the kind with minerals). Those are two remedies I use.

I don't blame you for not wanting to pump that much Motrin continuously into your body. There are two kinds of meds for headache; preventives and abortives. Motrin is not a preventive and should not be taken as such. Sadly I personally have not found any pill that really works for me as a preventive, despite being on dozens of them since age 9 and spending inpatient time at a world-renowned neurological institute. But...I would ask for an abortive such as fioricet (just one example of a bazillion out there) OR a preventive actually designed for headaches. Pumping all that Motrin indefinitely is not a good solution, especially with how hard it is on the stomach.
Good luck, I literally feel your pain.

Not that this is going to help with the pain right now but you should check your diet. If I eat anything that contains nitrates I get a wicked headache.

Rather than treating the symptom, it's better to find out the cause. Are you drinking enough water (8 glasses a day)? Are you having lots of the "3 Cs" headache triggers: cheese, chocolate and coffee? Have you had any recent head injury, or more than usually tight shoulder/neck muscles? Have you changed your glasses, pillow, mattress, car or chair/sofa lately? Have you allergies that might be causing sinus pain? Is there a time of day when it gets worse or better?
See if you can do some detective work and narrow it down to a possible cause.

I began to have TERRIBLE daily headaches. I seriously was on the verge of calling a neurologist as the pain was so bad. Then, I happened to read the flyer to the estrogen vaginal suppositories ---headache was a side effect. I stopped the suppositories and the headaches stopped immediately.
See if you can discover the reason you are having daily headaches.

I think you need to figure out what the headaches are from, first. There are different ways to treat different kinds of headaches.
That having been said, I suffer from chronic headache. One thing that has helped me is taking Migrelief, which is a combo of magnesium (can't remember what form), feverfew, and, um something else that is recommended. It has helped substantially. The other thing which helped me last year and that I need to get back to is acupuncture. I didn't believe it would help, but was at my wit's end, and it really did help a lot.

when I have that kind of nagging headache its almost always sinus related (even though it doesn't feel sinus related AT.ALL) I take good old fashioned sudafed with excedrin and it works like a charm

There could be a variety of reasons this is happening. For me, I was having a headache almost daily for over a year. The dr kept saying it was a sinus infection. Finally I asked how could that be when there was no snot. So he sent me to an ENT. Was told I was having migraines due to a deviated septum. Yes it's sinus related but not an infection. Once I got them under control, I know how to treat them and ward them off.
One thing I do to keep them at bay is regular adjustments at my chiropractor. I know when I've not been soon enough because the frequent headaches start up.
It also could be diet related. This may sound trendy, but it could be a gluten intolerance.

Advil / Motrin have the same ingredient, ibuprofen. I have better luck with Excedrin, which is aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine. Try Excedrin and see if it works better to alleviate your headaches. If you are not suffering from migraine headaches, Excedrin also makes a Sinus headache and regular headache formula.
