I did like Candace but now not so much. Glad Heidi and Kelly Osborne stepped up and said about it. It seriously makes me wonder what was edited out that Kelly noticed how bitchy it was.

Have they done a normal challenge yet? Describe the inspiration, go to Mood, get material and create an outfit. It looks like we won't be able to see actually outfits from them yet either. I really want to see what they can do when they are given some freedom.

I had to pull my chin up off the floor AND change my opinion if Blake! Seriously he was more mature than any of those women! And did you notice when he said that his voice wasn't whiney or sing song? He seemed very real.
I was like 'you go Blake!'
I'm more convinced he puts on an act for the show, like an exaggerated charicature.
I loved the men's team and the look that won. I thought the right person went home.
Lesson to the women, at this point you should have knowledge of past seasons, you should know that falsely throwing someone under the bus doesn't work and usually backfires.
WTH were they thinking when they 'painted' all that fabric like that. Seriously?

Blake was spot on when he said those other 4 were the mean girls. Look at all the stuff Jake got done: he created great outfit and he did a lot with creating that fabric, yet when he worked with Lindsey she bitched about him the whole time saying he had no taste was lazy and couldn't sew...sure looks like he can do all of those things when he works with other people!
Ashley needs to get over her attitude though, sure she got picked last, but someone is always last, she can't let past experiences get in the way. It was still a team challenge and it would obviously benefit her of the team won, so sitting back and saying very little and acting like she did sure wasn't going to help in the long run when she already knew she was the outsider - just more reason to work extra hard and create something better in that situation. Her attitude of "you didn't pick me" so I'm only going to put in a minimal effort now, almost cost her a spot. maybe she's isn't that great, she had issues with pants in another challenge, and this time she couldn't make them work either and had to ditch them.
I also like Blake's flower painting, he obviously just needs to grow up a bit more and learn when not to talk, because he when he shuts up and gets to work and talks normally to others, then he can do good things.
I couldn't understand why the girls team just threw all the different colors on and created the easter egg fabric, surely like the guys did, it was smartest just to pick one or two main colors.
Finally I liked Edmond's dress, but I think overall Jake should have won, he really was the main creator of the fabric and made a good outfit himself. Definitely the right to send Amanda home, as Nina said, she was dead weight and hasn't made anything good in any challenge so far.

I think that maybe Ashley wasn't able to let go and move forward because she isn't that old (24, I think) and the whole thing was probably a little too much like high school for her. She was probably remembering every time she got picked on or chosen last as a teen. I agree that she SHOULD have brushed it off, but that can be hard to do. Especially because she's had success on the show -- two wins and she wasn't one of the first few picked? I was really glad Heidi said something. I was also pretty impressed with Blake -- it takes a lot of guts to stand up for someone else and I loved that he called the others out as mean girls. Also, I don't think Ashley initially gave up at all -- she did try to say some things but everyone was talking at once. She also suggested that they come up with a concept before painting the white fabric, and they all shushed her with, "it will all evolve." I loved all three of the top looks from the men's team, and I was happy with the winner. I'm glad Amanda is gone because not only did she seem to create the same thing every week, she was one of endless whiners that just never win over anyone to their side.

I couldn't believe it was yet another episode with no Mood. I really wasn't happy about that! I thought the guys did a phenomenal job and I think that Pjaye is right, Jake probably should have won. Edmond's look was beautiful but part of that beauty was the fabric that Jake (and Blake) created. Plus, I really did love Jake's outfit (he had the pants and cape top, right?). I thought that look was really cool. I loved his and Edmond's the most and I think since he created the fabric, that should have given him the edge.
As far as the women's team, I agree with both Pjaye and Scrapbrat. I agree that Ashley should have worked harder to move on--give those girls a sort of "I'll show you!" attitude. And I also agree that you can't harp too much on being picked last because someone does always have to be picked last. But I think scrapbrat is spot on--it probably is a pretty deep-rooted thing for Ashley. Being so large all the years she was growing up, being bullied throughout her growing up years (as she mentioned before) and probably always picked last for everything, that does something to you. She probably thought this was going to be so different. She came in and won a challenge right away. She worked with someone pretty, thin, and cool and they worked super well together and won a challenge. She was probably at the top of the world, feeling like she found her niche where she's not the "fat girl who gets picked last" but is instead a respected and appreciated designer. That probably came crashing down when she was picked last in that challenge. It was right back to junior high. And it was so senseless! Yes, someone has to be picked last, but the most winning designer who seems to work well in teams and hasn't had any drama moments or fights? On top of that, when the women started collaborating and Ashley was trying to steer them into coming up with a concept, they shut her down--"oh, let's just let it evolve"; "let's not worry about that"...She tried several times and was ignored, talked over or sort of pooh-poohed. So they just ran off willy nilly and it showed. Now Ashley is stuck working with the horrible fabric they rushed in to create and is stuck trying to create a look without any real framework since each was doing their own thing. I really, really felt for her. Having said all that though, I wish she could have pushed through more or made herself heard or something! But I guess that's easier said than done. Then, when the women started all picking Ashley's as the worst on the runway, it was SO CLEAR that what she felt and thought all along was true--it wasn't about who designed the best, it was about who you liked and was friends with. The women made themselves look very, very foolish there and they proved that what Ashley and Laurie were saying was true. I loved it when the safe designs were the two that the mean girls singled out as the worst.
Unfortunately my DVR cut off as soon as the three safe designs left the runway. I found out just now that Amanda left--makes sense. Was there anything else interesting that happened those last few minutes and what did next week look like?

Just finished watching....wow...what a bunch of immature bitches for sure!
First off, I think Laurie said it best when she said that it wasn't a team challenge, it was pick your BFFs first. That sure bit them in the ass didn't it? I was really shocked when Edmund didn't pick Ashley though too. There doesn't seem to be ill will (that they've shown) between Ashley and any of the other designers. I also think that Heidi fueled the fire when she said "Ashley is LAST? She's so great, I can't believe she's last!" from the get go. That may have gotten the other girls to think "OMG, she's one of the front runners and Heidi loves her, let's get rid of her!!" I think Heidi's comments fueled some resentment from the other girls. But Ashley also needs to get a backbone and stand up for herself. Hard, I know, when you have four other people poo pooing your every idea and not taking you seriously. I am an upfront, in your face person but even that would have made me sit back and say "Ok...dig your own grave then."
While I loved the concept of the guys' team. I didn't really love the styles. Jake's outfit was cute but the cape seemed weird to me. Edmond's gown was beautiful but I didn't like the top part, it took away from a formal style for me. I really hated Swapnil's skirt, but I don't like bubble skirts on anyone or by anyone. I did love Blake's dress though. Classy and simple. Thought it was the best out of the bunch.
I found it ironic that Amanda was so willing to blame Ashley for the team's faults and looks, but when she was ousted, she said "It wasn't my fault, it was the team!" You can't have it both ways honey!!!
Candace and Lindsay disgust me. I haven't liked either of them since day one. Lindsay is a total bitch and Candace is a control freak. She was the one who was "helping" with all the designs and someone should have brought that up. I totally think that Candace should have gone home. It was her "concept", her choices and her direction that got them there. However, her posse of BFFs wouldn't have said anything.
Good for Laurie and good for Blake for standing up for what's right. Kelly O was spot on in her assessment of the bitch fest.

LOVED the mens team. Totally agree. I'm going with the producers want more drama. It was probably all in the "master plan", the girl who was picked on as a kid ends up getting picked on again. This whole pre-season they've been touting the drama, especially with Tim. I'm just not a fan of that.
I watch the designing/sewing/runway and ffwd through the rest.
I have been happy to see that Heidi's wearing a bra this season though

I can totally understand how Ashley felt, BUT when it's a team challenge you just have to suck it up and continue to play nice because overall you still need your team to win, no matter how much you hate everyone else at that point. the trouble with that attitude in a team competition is that the grave they are digging might just be yours.
Next week looks like crap, Heidi's doing her own lingerie line now, so they probably have to design a look for her new collection...I don't think a few bits of lace and a fancy bra are exactly "high fashion"

The only thing is, would they have even listened to her at that point? Probably not. Candace wanted to just "let it flow". Next week DOES look crap. Lingerie is not fashion to me, it's more of an accessory. I wish they'd stop promoting Heidi's lines.

There was a whole lot to dislike on the girls' team to include their cliqueishness. My least favorite look was Kelly's bandage top/mermaid skirt look. For as many pieces that Lindsey created they were all horrible. When her model removed the coat to reveal the white top underneath? It did nothing to flatter that model's bust. Horrible! Candace's dress was so tortured. Amanda keeps making maternity clothing. To make these models that they have look so bad...wow. Edmond looks like Common. I loved his look but didn't like the placement of the painted flowers. I agree with his win. He and Swapnil helped Jake out with his design, so they all collaborated together in design and construction. I did laugh at Blake hiding out during the paintball fight. When Kelly spoke up to the girls, I remembered her talking about some bullying she dealt with when she was on Dancing With The Stars. And immediately after that "bitch fest" comment, Candace changed her selection to Laurie as least favorite dress instead of Ashley. This episode revealed her fake self, didn't it?! San Francisco. Right!

I was glad to see Amanda go (and have no patience for her blaming everyone but herself) but I think it would've been sweet if Miss Bossy Pants Candice had gone, since she insisted on taking over. Did she really think that anyone would believe that her whole "San Francisco" thing wasn't pulled directly from her butt?? I also appreciate that the other girl (can't get most of the names straight yet) gave Ashley a heads up on what was going on. And then also spoke up on the runway to admit that there was no direction.
I really liked the blue teams looks.....loved the winning dress!

So happy for this thread, my DVR cut out right before Heidi announced who was out!
After watching most of the UNreal season on Lifetime, I wonder how much of the Ashley business was engineered? Could producers have but a bug in the ear of the other designers to crush Ashley because of her two wins? Break her and eliminate her? Knowing there was a possibility that Ashley could be broken by being picked last and muted when she offered her ideas, vs. another designer who might feel fuled to fight harder?
I agree with the above poster who cheered the designer (can't remember her name) who let Ashley in on what was going on. I'm going to have to root for her simply because of her kindness towards Ashley and ability to walk away from the mean girls.

Watched it online last night and was shocked at how a designer I had liked (Candace) morphed into the leader of the middle school mean girls. Instead of playing smart and picking the stronger designer (Ashley), mean girl picked that whiny, perennially in the bottom Amanda. What moron picks a WEAK candidate for a team challenge? And then to pick Lindsey, who also has been at the bottom or simply blah? Stupid, stupid, stupid!
I loved both Edmund's and Swapnil's looks and was thrilled that Jake demonstrated how much he has to offer. Taken together with Lindsey's behavior in her own team and on the runway, it proves what Jake said about being teamed with Lindsey: she took charge and wouldn't listen to anyone else. She and Pierced Nose can be the next to go.
I've liked both Edmund and Swapnil from the beginning. I think that they and Ashley are the ones to beat. Let's see if Captain Candace learns anything from being slapped down for her behavior although I don't think an underwear challenge is a true test of any designer's skill.

Honestly I'm worried how many uniboob models are going to go down the runway.

Why can't they let them buy their own damn fabric and fabric and design some clothes?

I wonder if they will go to Mood this week. As it is Heidi's line it is probably her fabric. Although when they did the children's clothes they got to go to Mood to supplement the line's fabrics.

I can't imagine how it would be to be Ashley. I'm sure she has been bullied and at her young age, I'm sure it is hard to just say f--- you all. I hope she bounces back and starts being in the top again.
I also would think that the producers show the judges some of the footage from the team pow-wows and workroom before or right after the runway show. They have to have some insight into the how everything went down.

It appears that he comes in for about an hour to consult for each challenge, but then leaves them on their own. I don't know if the judges get to see any of the workroom footage before the judging. If contestants knew that the judges would see that footage before judging, it would put a real damper on the drama--and since drama fuels ratings, do the producers really want contestants who are always on their best behavior?

Amanda even blames others when she forgets her damn scissors! Loved Laurie's even-keeled response. I agree with everything jackie wrote about Ashley. I felt bad for her; she actually was the only one not picked at ALL. On the other hand, the whole TEAM (and the other team) wasn't deciding/conspiring together to continue not to choose her. Each person (except Laurie) had one pick and preferred somebody else. Ashley might've been second choice for many. I actually appreciated Candace's altruism, but it seemed to give the others permission to pick friends. In the aggregate, though, it was a gut punch. Pahina722, I read an interview with Tim where he said he always keeps close tabs on the goings-on in the workroom. Even when he's not in there, he's often on site. Last week (I think), I posted that I always believe the judges get "intelligence" about the workroom after the anonymity veil is lifted but before the explain-your-design session. I think it was obvious again this week. If someone I like is eliminated next week for underwear, I shall be mightily annoyed. Q: How does this reflect San Francisco? A: Well, I'm FROM there...
