This will make you laugh! My dh used to help me out a lot. Yea right. I would noticed my purse getting a bit heavier. Ok nothing new. And then heavier. What this rascal was doing was dropping nuts and bolts into the bottom of it. At first I just couldn't figure this out. When I finally dumped my purse out there were "his offerings". Oh yes. He thought that was quite amusing. From then on I was constantly weighing my purse and wondering if it was him again. He is gone now but this still makes me laugh.

My purse has to be big enough for my EPI pen...that's my only requirement. What do guys with bad allergies do? You can't leave the EPI pen in the car because the heat will mess with it...and you can't leave it home. Do they carry a man-purse or a fanny-pack? Now they can buy the Auvi Q which fits easily in a pants pocket. Only thing is, a lot of insurance companies don't cover it.

I normally use a wristlet, small cross body purse, or wallet. All I need is my ID cards, credit cards, lipgloss, compact and cash. I even have a teeny tiny pocket wallet that holds my ID and credit cards and sometimes that's all I carry. I do have a couple of purses that can hold water bottles, snacks and other miscellaneous items for when we go on a day trip somewhere. So it's a pocket wallet inside a wristlet inside a purse. And none of my purses are as big as the diaper bag I used to haul around!

I have just resigned myself to the fact that I am a big purse girl!! Sometimes you just have to give up even when you don't want too. :-)

I find the dumbest things....apart from the usual wallet, credit card holder, tampons, lipstick, etc. etc., I know right now there's also a collection of sticks, a small rubber snake, one of those incredibly annoying rubber bouncy balls and a some very old, very sticky candy.
Can you tell I have boys ;-)

I carry a pretty big handbag, but I have learned to keep smaller pouches so that it is easy to transfer/switch.

I have just about everything but the kitchen sink in my purse. Granted, it's a larger purse, but I have a bunch of kids and am always on the go, so it's necessary.
Let's see, strange things currently in my purse: diapers (unused), candy, rejected bits of pb crackers waiting to be thrown out, tissues used to wipe mouth, plastic baby spoon, dd lip balm, novel, the list could go on for days.
I bow down to you small purse toting peas. I haven't been able to do that in over a decade.

I just bought ANOTHER new purse. I keep looking for the perfect huge purse. I don't carry food or jellybeans in my purse; only absolute necessities: my wallet w/checkbook, my DH's spare checkbook (he often forgets his!), my date planner (I don't have a smartphone), a little journal for notes and reminders, my makeup case, a little case with hair items (it's damned HOT in FL!!), a container for OTC meds, a plastic tube with bandaids and neosporin (I'm around little kids far too often! LOL). The front zippers hold my keys, cellphone, rescue inhaler, emergency lipgloss and tiny bottle of cuticle oil (I like to continually reapply). All of this weighs a TON and I really think that my next purse will end up being a diaper bag. No joke!!!

This post cracks me up. I am known for the vast wasteland that is my purse. One time, years ago, a friend at work put an unopened block of cheese into my purse. We had received it as part of a gift basket from a client. The next day, she confessed and it was still in there, I hadn't noticed it. We must have laughed for a half hour, and still laugh about it.

I find myself using my wristlet more often. It's nice to have the basic cards, ID, cash and phone in one spot. I wish my wristlet had a spot for coins though.

The weirdest thing I have ever found in my purse (that I remember) was popcorn. I'm guessing it happened at the movie theatre, but not sure how it got in there. I always set my purse on the seat beside me

I don't carry one. I have a caribiner clip for my keys that goes on my belt loops in the store and a Vera clutch wallet thing that holds my cards and phone. I only wear a small sling bag when I'm riding my motorcycle. I remember my mothers purse being so damn heavy as a kid. She had no less then $17 in change in it at any given time!! Lol! Along with every conceivable thing she may need from now til Jesus comes in there......it was like an archeological dinosaur dig when she'd clean it out.....

I have gotten to where I consider a purse is for dressier occasions. I carry one to church, dinners, wedding etc. for everyday, I use a wristlet or a small coin holder that l can slip into my pocket. Purses in my opinion are a job to keep up and keep up with

I also end up with a random assortment of tiny cars, trains, crayons and food bits I pull out of my purse when cleaning it out. Once when I cleaned out my purse I found SEVEN tubes of lipstick, almost all identical shades. Apparently I couldn't find my favorite color, so I kept buying it (or something like it).

Even if I try to buy a tiny purse, it gets stuffed to overflowing. I've tried the wallets and wristlets, but they get so stuffed. DH and DS call it my bowling bag because it feels like there could be a bowling ball in it.
Right now the weird things would be a pair of gloves and those little shoe store socks. Shoes are my second best favorite behind purses, so every purse I have has a pair of those socks in there in case I need to try on shoes. There's also always some sort of food in there. I don't eat meals during the day, just snacks, so I'll have a granola bar, a bag of nuts or a package of pb and crackers - last week when looking for something in this purse, I did find several mushy hershey kisses in Christmas flavor. I think they were candy cane.
Then I have a couple of purses that DH and DS call my "Movie Bag", because sometimes I (cue the pea pile on) sneak our own snacks into the movies.

It never even occurred to me not to carry a purse. I like having one. I guess I like hauling a bunch of random crap around with me as I never know what I might want on hand. But now I type that out, it seems pretty stupid. That. Granted I carry a satchel not a purse. I cannot imagine going out in the world and not be prepared for life. Sure. I carry a lot of stuff, but I'd rather be prepared than not. As for little purses? They are good as wallets or for fancy dress where you're walking into an event and the satchel can stay in the trunk. Other than that, pointless in my world.

Okay, so I love handbags. When my purse started becoming heavy, I got a different one. I used to love heavy leathers, but a friend introduced me to nylon, and bam. I became a believer. The purse itself can be super heavy, so I went to the Kate Spade outlet, found a nylon one that I love, and it is so light. I won't ever go back to leather. MZ Wallace makes awesome nylon bags, with leather trim. They are pricey, $200-$400, but they are made well. They only have a couple of stores, but they do have a selection at Nordstrom. You could go try it out? I know you could just clean out the one you have, and maybe make it lighter, but I swear, the nylon bags are so awesome. They have tons of pockets too, like side ones, front ones, and they zip so well. The Hayley, Kate, and Belle are my faves. They do a lot of cross body ones, like almost all of them have that option. I don't do purses. I keep my phone, license, and debit card in a phone/wallet type thing. It works for me. I have a file drawer at work for personal items like make-up, Tylenol, etc. That way I don't have to lug stuff with me every day.

I travel light and have smaller purses. I only carry keys, small wallet, cell phone, lip gloss & reading glasses so I can easily switch from my black go-to purse to one of my cute purses for going out.
I do have to dump out my black purse every now and then because I never use coins to pay for anything and it gets really heavy from the weight of the change. Like the wrecking ball comment someone else made...I could probably knock someone out with that thing!

I found a 'right for me sized purse' at the beginning of the summer. What it fits, just perfectly (putting everything in like a jigsaw puzzle); make up bag (lipstick, first aid stuff, sanitary stuff); glasses case; reading book; bottle of water; purse (ok you call it wallet); pack of tissues; deodorant; perfume; hairbrush; mobile phone; pen and small notepad.
Unfortunately it's a coral red colour and I only have a couple of outfits that it matches, so at least once a week I have to change things out and put them all into another bag instead.
The other things most likely to find their way into the bottom would be chocolate wrappers.

Ok well I qualify that, I do have more outfits it matches (it's one of my fave colours to wear) but only a couple of the outfits are suitable for work.
Actually I feel that I pack my purse quite light now. When the kids were little I was an everything but the kitchen sink type of mum!

I joked at work once. A guy gave me a ride somewhere.... but I left my purse in his car. He was driving around w/ it. (long story) And a huge storm came. I joked that he could survive a week with my purse!
But I just gave mine a good cleaning out and the only really interesting thing I found is about 1,000 pens, which is ironic since I can never find one.
