If that's too rude, don't answer.
But we just got Fioptics down our street and are thinking of switching over.
I'm looking for cable, internet, home phone and a few movie channels... just curious as to what other's pay for services like that, to see if what I'm asking for is a correct amount.
Right now we pay $137/mo for everything above but not the home phone. I'm trying to get it lowered to $100/mo with our home phone, either with our existing cable/internet provider or through the new company... is that reasonable?

We have AT&T Uverse and pay right at $200 per month for cable, the dvr service with 4 boxes and hi def, the middle tier internet and a home phone. We will eventually cancel the home phone since it was just for the kids to use before they got cell phones. Without home phone I think it was $160 or so.

Comcast and I pay $140/mo which I think is a total rip off. I want to cancel so bad, but I can't live without internet. I was paying $165/mo and that included a land line...I just dropped that to lower the bill.

A jamillion, gagillion bucks a month, it seems like. Well, closer to $80 for Internet and $120 for TV. It would be cheaper to combine through Comcast, but until my Internet works consistently, I'm not going to rely on them for my other form of entertainment.

Woah, that's a lot. I'm on the phone right now with my existing provider to see if they can lower my bill, if not, I'm switching to the other company just to save some money!

We are in Ontario, so we're talking Canadian funds here....
We have ours bundled - phone, internet & tv.
We have a small local company that has a 5 year plan to install true fibre to home cables all over town> We lucked out and were in the first area they did.
We have two land lines (one for my business), one DVR HD receiver, 3 additional regular receivers (one in each kid's room), unlimited internet, and a TV package comparable to what we had with Bell Canada.
We currently pay $185/month.
With Bell Canada we were paying about $270 a month for the same package deal, but no receivers in the kids rooms.
On the bill, it has the internet portion listed at $38/month.

It is a lot, but I must have a dedicated "land" line (meaning not cell phone, but VOIP like Comcast is OK) for work. And DH's job is sports, so we need upgraded cable packages. Add in fast internet and it's ungodly expensive. This is a bundle discount, too, which expires in about 9 months, so we have to figure out what to do then. At least we can deduct the phone charges since it's business-only.

$140-150 a month for Verizon Fios tv (upgraded packages), phone, and internet.
ETA when you look at what we are charged BEFORE all these damn California and Fexeral taxes, it is only $119 a month. The taxes are about $30. Crazy
Before Fios we were paying $80-90 just for phone and internet service.

So far, it looks like I've got the best deal. And I am *very happy with it, I must say. I have pretty decent internet, no phone, about 40 basic cable channels and about 15 to 20 movie channels. For all that, I pay: $77.99 plus taxes. I have Cox Cable. Lisa

$170 a month with Cablevision (Long Island New York). That's for house phone, cable TV and internet; 3 cable boxes/remotes; no special channels like HBO. Once a year I have to call and re-negotiate contract - CRAZY ! This past year, I got them to extend my present contract for another year - so increase. Two years ago I debated dropping the house phone and they told me it was only dropping my bill by $6.00 - WHAT ? Me neighbors and I compare our bills and we all pay different prices - ridiculous. Someone needs to take control of these cable companies.

Today I pay $52 for internet and $83 for Dish Network (HD Channels, DVR that covers 2 TVs, all of the regular channels but not premium channels). $135 total
BUT my internet sucks. I was trying to stream a show the other day and it wouldn't load so I ran a test and was uploading at .85mps. I was paying for "up to 3 MBPS" which is the 2nd highest plan AT&T offers in my area. So I checked out Xfinity - and their internet is up to 75MBPS!?!
So I made the switch. TV won't be set up until 9/20, but I'll have everything listed above that I have now (with much faster internet) and a much bigger On Demand service, and my bill will be $119/month, saving about $20/month. THis is the 240+ channel plan. There is 1 or 2 that have fewer channels that would be less, but there were certain sports networks I wanted in that plan.
I did get several Xfinity offers for their Triple Play service - which included a $500 Visa gift card. But I don't want a home phone (and the savings wasn't more than $500 to make it worth it). It would depend on how many TVs you have though - each one is an additional fee/month. And adding movie channels is expensive!

Well, interesting to see Nth American prices. I'm in New Zealand and don't have cable. I pay NZ$82 per month (currently US$52) for internet and home phone. That's an ADSL broadband connection with an 80GB/month cap. I have Netflix and pay $15/month for that which is a much better deal than going with Sky which is the largest pay tv service - costs NZ$50/month for 63 channels - sport and movies extra so most people end up paying about $100/month.

We pay $170 a month for great Internet, landline and cable for 5 TV's with DVR and 1 extra DVR box. As someone else mentioned, we pay a lot of taxes and stupid fees because we live in CA. ETA: We have hundreds of channels that include lots of music channels and premium sports channels like NBA, MLB and the all-important SEC Network!!

In Alberta. Bell satellite medium package 1 PVR (we rent) one regular receiver (we own) $100. Local internet $50, up to 5 Mbps speed as good as it gets here. Home phone $45. Cell $55 (my old old plan which I can't kept next time I get a new phone. And the new plans are more expensive for less service) & $85. As good as it gets not many options for companies in the rural area and I've called for a better rate before.

$130 for Internet (max speed), expanded cable, and one DVR. We were paying nearly $200 for basically the same package in Texas, so this is a good deal for us.

we pay approximately $150 a month in Alberta with Bell we have all the channel packages minus the porn lol. Hubby likes hunting and fighting, one son likes hockey and wrestling, other son likes history/discovery/military channels and I like news/home improvement. Plus we all like movies and the local network type channels so yeah it is pretty pricey ugh. We also have 4 tvs and a pvr so that ups the price as well.

In NH, we have Comcast. Paying bills right now. We are currently paying $194.00 for internet and cable. Yes, big huge rip off. No phone included. (I think I better call and see what they have for a better rate. Problem is they offer the savings bundle with the phone and it never worked for me, we have so many phone problems. I would never use them for phone again)
Here is the breakdown on the current bill: xfinity tv - $120.59 We have DVR, on demand, Expanded basic which means NO hbo, starz, etc. 2 HD converter boxes Xfinity internet - $63.95 Other charges and credits $4.25 Taxes Surcharges and Fees $6.42

Comcast in northern Virginia. We pay $160 a month for the landline, Internet and cable. We only have Starz for a premium channel, and only because it was a package deal. It lowered the bill by about $20 and doubled the internet speed. We have two Internet connections, so we put the kids on one and us on the other.

We were paying $54 for internet to the local cable company. My husband just an hour ago signed us up with Century Link for $50, but the speed is supposed to be a ton better. (40/20 Mbps) He has been wanting to find something faster for a while and a salesman just came knocking on the door an hour ago, so he will be happier. We don't pay for any cable channels, and my husband does his own VoIP phones (he works for a phone company and his brother has the VoIP service that we use for free).

I'm trying to get it to around $100/month. So far, it's looking like $122/month from my current provider or $119/mo from the new one. I'm trying to get it a little lower to switch, so we shall see.
