I feel like a life-long wino who just discovered gin. I just caved and bought my first vintage patterned Pyrex. The black snowflake stuff has beckoned to me for years, but I staunchly resisted it. I have quite enough collections, thank you very much, and didn't need to fall into the Pyrex world... ..until, jonesing, I stopped in a thrift store on the way home and this beauty followed me home (internet photo):  I love that it's cream colored, not white. And the gold!! What I love more: I've learned that it was a promotional item from 1958 and there are no companion pieces. So I'm done, right? Just one shot of gin? What patterns do y'all collect? (Photos encouraged.) |

I don't collect Pyrex, just have a coupe of casserole dishes in pink and a stack of bowls in assorted solid colours. I sometimes think about paring down my colour assortment but then I can never decide which colours I'd let go!

I am trying to avoid falling down the vintage Pyrex rabbit hole, but I just changed my kitchen color to aqua and there's some really cool aqua Pyrex out there.
ETA: That piece is gorgeous! So unique. Great find.

I didn't realize it was a thing until 2 peas. I think someone posted it was made better than todays Pyrex. I bought 2 bowls for .25 each on a whim and they are thicker! They are the golden wheat variety, that brownish color with white designs. I think that pattern is kind of ugly, but it's functional.

Very nice! I collect vintage Pyrex. One of the nicest pieces I have is also a 1958 promotional piece a chip and dip set hot air balloons. It came in the original box and looks like it was never used.

I don't collect it per se, bit I will buy a nice pattern if it's cheap. I have one black snowflake casserole dish that I love, and a few other vintage 70s tacky pieces that have sentimental value.

I have 2 pieces - a pink Desert Dawn (or Pink Flamingo) baking dish and a small brown Woodland Bowl. I also have some older CorningWare and one piece of Fire King. I just buy what I like and i find cheap.
The CorningWare set was given to me after our house fire and I use it everyday. The other pieces were about a dollar. The bowl was a quarter.

I have yet to find that heart piece!! And I want it!! I actually have a Pyrex problem. This is one corner of my kitchen. I also have pieces and sets all around and hidden away. When I started running out of room I starting putting the sets I didn't care for behind closed cabinet doors. I do use these and my kids at anytime can grab one to use as well.  That is awesome! I hope it is OK that I pinned your picture! |

Can you post photos here without having a photobucket or similar hosting site? Yup. If you find it in Google images, click on View Image and then copy the url. Come here, hit the Picture icon on top of your reply (third from the left), erase http,etc., paste in your picture url, and hit insert image. It it's your own photo, hit Add Attachment way in the top right of your reply and follow the prompts. It's picky about the size of your image, though. |

I don't collect, but have my mom's old mixing bowls. A set of 4, blue, green, yellow and red. They're probably from the mid-50's or thereabouts, if I had to guess. And probably very common. But I like them and use them.

I read somewhere that the most valuable Pyrex out there is a shamrock & heart pattern. Something like only three pieces of it are known to exist. Now THAT would be the one to stumble upon at a thrift store or garage sale.  |

It is killing me that my dad cannot find my mother's Aqua/white Pyrex bowls. I want them so bad! I have a sick feeling that when my mom first started with her dementia she got rid of them.

The other side of my kitchen has the Pyrex baking and pie plates that get used as well. I'm about 2 years into collecting Pyrex, but I've collected vintage kitchen stuff for about 15 years. Back in the day I collected jadeite dishes, bowls, etc. Then it went to milk glass and it spun itself into Pyrex. I have a problem. Anyone want any? Lol!  I love it all. What a great kitchen. |

Same here - not a collector, but I have my mom's bowls, all except the smallest one (it was blue) not sure what happened to it, suspect my dad may have it as he used it all the time to make waffle batter on Sunday mornings. I have used them at times. Dd loved them so much she found herself a set. |

I think the pink hearts with the green shamrocks was also a promo piece and the most coveted. But I would love, love to find the Christmas holly bowl.

I have a large milk glass collection and have dipped my toes into Pyrex pieces. My favorite are the aqua Butterprint pieces and Horizon Blue items. Trying to stick with blue and teal hues so that I don't buy every single piece I see in a thrift store.
My milk glass collection is growing faster, though. The pieces are cheaper (for the most part) and it coordinates with other collections too.
