Scrapower?
I was browsing an old thread from February, and saw her, but it appears her account is deactivated. I know she was going through some serious health crises. I was wondering if I missed an update along the way? I butted heads with her, but I always enjoyed it when I did. She's a smart lady. I hope someone has some information about her?

There was kind of a hair flip. More like a pile up on her. She brought it on herself but it was hard not to feel bad for her.  |

She posted a picture that was supposed to be of her, taken recently by her DH, but it was quickly revealed that it was a pic of a model that had been on the internet for quite a while. She argued, lied about it, then left.
It was very odd because she certainly had to know that she'd be caught out in the lie...it was a very striking picture that some had seen before, and it definitely was not taken a few months ago by her DH. It's used fairly often, Google "wiccan woman". It's like she wanted a reason to leave. Really weird.

I don't know why Scrapower posted that picture. But the response by some on that thread represents all that is bad on a board like this IMO. What some seem to be ignoring was the post of a fake picture was out of character for Scrapower. Instead of some folks wondering why she felt the need to post the picture or if it was even her that did post the picture those folks went directly to an attack mode.
In the end Scrapower felt she had to deactivate her account or to be blunt she was run off the board. And I'm sorry she felt she had to leave this board.

She could have easily said she was joking around since she never posts pictures of herself and it would have been forgotten. But she insisted it was her and the story she told about how it came to be after proof was shown she was lying.

Run off the board? It was her decision to post a fake picture, lie about it, lie about it some more then deactivate her account. People tried to figure out reasons why she'd done it but she'd left by then. She could have explained, claimed it was a wind up something, anything and people would have gotten over it. I don't see that she was run off, she was always very vocal and able to stand up for herself.

Oh geez. I'm sorry, I had no idea. Someone sent me the link to the thread in question...I was on vacation at that time, and Two Peas was not where I wanted to spend my time, so I totally missed it.
Well, I hope she is doing well, regardless. I miss her.

@lynlam not sure if you knew but scrapower has a serious medical condition and was undergoing treatment. What she did was so out of character for her. Maybe posting that picture gave her some hope, IDK.
While we had very different ideas on political threads and current events, she was a class act. I miss her too.

I did know she was ill, in the thread that sparked my memory she mentioned having "Chemo-Brain". Thats what made me wonder if anyone knew how she was doing, and when I saw her account was deactivated, I feared the worst. She was always a fun debate opponent, and I mean that sincerely. |

I miss her also, and wish the photo had not been challenged. I keep hoping she will return or has returned under another name.

Posting ANY photo would have been out of character for her, she even said so. I don't see that she was 'run off' the board. People called her out on her lie/lies. She herself was a very blunt and opinionated person and had no problem being harsh with others. I guess she didn't like having to stand up to similar scrutiny. Her choice to leave, as I am pretty sure she wasn't banned by admin. That about sums it up. She definitely was not run off the board. |
