OMG!! I think we can now officially not pay any attention to anything Heidi has to say about "fashion". Did you see this monstrosity that she wore to the Emmy awards?
To use one of Heidi's phrases "this is so sad looking" What's up with using half of an old Dolly Parton jacket? and the colour and the net and the shoes...too much ugly.

They panned her on Fashion Police last week too. Some weird outfit she wore for the final of AGT.

That dress is OK ...until you get to the bootpants. Those are very weird.

They panned her on Fashion Police last week too. Some weird outfit she wore for the final of AGT. I like the top, but the shiny shoepants have got to go. Maybe her Emmy dress was a challenge piece. They've done that before. But if that was the winning look I shudder to think what the others would have been.

I thought the same thing when I saw Heidi's dress tonight. Horrible! She has lost all fashion credibility with me. No wonder such weird outfits win all the time.

The peep toe boots are thigh high. They went to lengths to say that she should have had a gap between the boots and the hem of her dress.... it's just a weird look. The top of the dress is spring, the bottom is mourning and mumsy length (for Heidi) and a very "normal" brunch dress and then the whole see all my toes, there is nothing peeping they are all there in all their glory.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Merline's horrific mess of a garment. I don't care if you do have immunity, you still try to create a winning look. Look at this monstrosity. There are wires hanging everywhere and the back doesn't even close. I cannot believe they didn't call her out on this mess. what the what???I thought it looked like the model cut open a very large bird and climbed into its carcass for warmth... then strutted down the runway.

Maybe Heidi is letting her kids dress her for awards shows now. That Emmy outfit last night looks like it!

Apparently (from Fashion Police) Heidi's dress was couture Versace. They hated it too. Many comments on how on earth could a supermodel look that bad. I think the quote of the night was "the only thing that could make that dress uglier is if Kim Davis were wearing it".

If she wasn't wearing underwear (which is supposed to be nude, so what's up w/the idiot model?) you'd be seeing butt crack. I can't believe they let that go. And as for Heidi? WTF? There are no words for how bad both those outfits were. I didn't see the boot one, so that was a shocker. Agreed - how can we trust her opinion ever again! And fwiw, the gang from Fashion Police hated the outfit she wore that was designed by a PR contestant and it was MUCH better than either of those! Anthony's dress

Heidi's dress looked like a DWTS costume. And someone forgot to finish her make-up. And you can see her crotch.
I've decided I'm just not supposed to understand high fashion. I always thought that being fashionable meant you wore clothing that was figure-flattering and made you look your best. But after watching that last season of All-Stars with Alyssa Milano, and some of the stuff Heidi wears, and some of the outfits the judges pick, I've clearly been mistaken. At least since she started that lingerie line she appears to be wearing a bra more often.
Will be interesting to see what tomorrow's show is. Who wants to take bets they don't go to Mood?

I don't think I've ever seen anyone wearing clothes from the runway shows. Then again, I'm not in NY or Paris lol, but seriously I see all these celebs at NY Fashion week in photos but I never see the clothes from the shows on any of them. *shrugs*
Guess I don't *get* high fashion either.

1. Did anybody else get the feeling Swapnil was trying to save face with his safe-safe-safe explanation? It didn't make sense that the alternative would necessarily be top-top-bottom-bottom-bottom. It's all too unpredictable. I like his designs, but I think he expected to be top-top-top, so is retroactively concocting a strategy.
2. Anybody know how the show benefits from Mood? We see the contestants paying cash. Maybe the cash is returned? There's also muslin and other fabrics provided for specific challenges, so maybe they're donated, but - if anything - there's MORE of that this season.
3. I still like Ashley, Edmund, and Swapnil. Laurie, too, just 'cause.
4. That yellow dress of Heidi's is unspeakably bad. "Dolly Parton jacket." Snort.

I wonder how some of the early winners would have fared with so many unconventional challenges? Nina went off this last challenge saying that they are supposed to be showing creativity! I wanted to yell back at her, that I would like to see them show their creativity with fabric and thread! As a viewer, I'm bored watching designers try to create fashion with computer parts or greeting cards, I really am. They may lose me after this season.

At this point I would be happy to have just a muslin challenge.

Let them use fabric and make wonderful CLOTHING that can be worn for real. I think they are trying to modernize it or maybe go in this direction to stay "current" and not jump the shark. However, they are losing the viewers who started watching for the FASHION and the design process, so I don't know if this is smart on their part.

Exactly imsirius! I loved watching the evolution of the designers and also seeing their style in the garments. While I questioned some of the critiques and winners of some episodes, it was more the exception and not the case like it is now. This is all kinds of crazy. I would love to know what Tim thinks of this format.
