My son is going with a group of classmates. I have no idea what kids wear, and my son doesn't know either. He has Autism, and would probably just go rocking a Doctor Who shirt, if he could get away with it. I'm thinking that kids dress up though. Do kids wear suits, or just dress pants, shirts and ties?

Around here they wear dress pants & shoes and a shirt & tie. The tie usually matches his date's dress.

At our school the guys wear dress pants, button down shirt and tie. Bow ties are most common right now but maybe that's because we're in the South?

Some boys wear a suit (ds included), some wear shirt and tie, or shirt, vest, and tie. The girls go all out dressy. The one look I really don't like is dress shirt and bow tie - with the vest, it's ok, but without the vest or suit coat, it looks weird to me.

At our school as of two years ago, boys generally wore nice slacks and a button down shirt, sometimes with a tie, sometimes not. There was a wide range and there were even some that wore nice jeans, nice shirts but no sneakers were allowed. I don't know if the rules were relaxed to allow more participants or not. Our school was literally the melting pot of Denver schools with 65 countries represented and a lot of kids that were below the poverty level. You would hate to punish the students who couldn't afford the nicer clothes. Then again, based on the total number of students, the attendance would be considered low.

Here no boys dress up. Jeans and a clean shirt. Some girls wear a casual dress with boots. Considering 80% or more of the kids come directly from the football game no one dresses up too much.

Our football game is on Friday and the dance is on Saturday. There is one school in our general area that has the dance immediately following the football game, and no one dresses up there. I think that is a shame - there are so few opportunities for the kids to dress up and use their best manners!

When I see how out there some go for home coming dresses in neighboring counties and other states I love not having the pressure. Some people pay 200 dollars or more to dress their kids for it. I just can't afford that for one dance.

That his how our school is. The dance is the night after the game. I will go out and buy him a suit. He does have dress shirts and ties, but usually wears them with Docker pants. So I can probably just buy the dress pants. He wants to go dressed just like the 12th Doctor (Doctor Who). I think I can pull it off, and no one will even know that he is obsessing over a show.

Suit or dress pants and jackets. The girls wear short dresses.

We just finished the high school circuit. The boys all wore suits or pants, tie, and vest, or just nice pants with a nice shirt and tie. There are always a couple of kids who completely do their own thing though. T-shirt to tuxedo.
