I have. There was one at an event I attended. She was off in a corner room so not many people had found her so I got to spend a lot of time with her. She was just ON from the second I sat down. She said my grandpa was there, and he was saying stuff that he totally would have said. (she even described one of his mannerisms). It was really interesting. It was free, but we did give her a tip.
My mother and I also went to see a John Edwards live event (it was the day Michael Jackson died actually). It was really cool to be there and meet him and hear his stories, but we did not get selected for a reading.

I went to while I was pregnant with my DS. She predicted the date I would go into labour, which was nowhere near my due date.
Of course, she also predicted a hundred other things that never came true but I think they count on you remembering that one lucky guess amidst all the other crap.

I haven't.
I would be open to it, but I've never come across one that seemed legitimate.
There is one in my neighborhood with a storefront that says "$10 for a reading"
Um, no.

My MIL went to Sylvia Brown (in the 80s) and had a tape of the reading. She would listen to it every once in awhile, most of what she said was true.
I had my tea leaves and palm read at a Halloween party once. She was 80% accurate with what she said. Funny she said she saw this big W in my life..and I tried to think it was wrong and she meant an M..because at that time I was dating my ex hubby and was thinking it was this other guy I loved or was my last name..low and behold I ended up marrying my current husband (for 26 yrs) and his last name starts with a W and he was ands still is a big impact in my life. Also told me I would have twin boy/girl..but not twins..just a boy and a girl.

I have had my palm read, and she was pretty accurate. I think as long as you go into it with a light heart it can be fun.
The people I have encountered who have the hardest time with Psychics have suffered terrible losses and are looking for some kind of peace. While I do believe in psychics, and that some can "see" I don't think going to someone for answers in that state is wise. Other than that, have fun!

Can psychics be known as those who can work with energy? If so then many of them are in the groups I participate on fb. But just because one says they are psychic doesn't mean they have tapped into that ability. But I'm good at feeling if someone is tapping in or just faking it, cause I will feel more tapped into reading energy when I'm around those who can. One of my friends who is clairvoyant does remote healings on the radio. So an experience I will share is when one of my friends called her about her arthritic and osteo knee and she was spot on with the emotional side to the cause. It had to do with her brother and her father and when she finished her 5 minute healing on her ( scraped the arthritis off and built back the bone) she told me she was able to squat when she couldn't before. I love listening to her radio shows. I even called in once for a reading and she ended up balancing my vitamins, water, and hormones, some chakra work, grounding ( feeling more connected to the physical world ) and sheilding ( blocking your energy from those you don't choose to absorb) I posted a before and after photo of me on her page when I thanked her for the healing because you could tell a big difference. My favorite parts are when she's doing a remote healing for someone and she tells them to do something like to put their finger on the painful spot of their knee and she says "no the other knee" or when she was teaching someone to do sheilding, she said to raise her hands up like she was grabbing onto a garage door and to slam it down. ( crazy I know but as someone who absorbs everyone's emotions it is very effective and much of it has to do with intention ) And so the person said "ok I did it" and the clairvoyant said "no you have to do it harder than that" , or the time she was on the phone with someone who was at work and one of her coworkers was talking on the phone next to her. The clairvoyant said that his talking was hard to tune out and asked her if she could cup the phone with her hand. So she did and said that she was and the clairvoyant said "yeah but you are still looking at him" ... If she was a fake that would have been pretty risky things to "predict" especially the last one. The girl at work could have easily said that she wasn't. But she really was I'm not sure if my clairvoyant friend is known as "psychic" though. She can do mediumship, remote connection/healings, telepathy, multi-dimension stuff ( yeah it gets way out there but I think it's so cool) , talk to one's spirit guides, higher self, and subconscious and relay their messages to that person. So I'm not sure if any of that falls under "psychic". But on her last radio show she told someone that their higher self wanted to send them the message that was something like: "if you don't release this anger you have, then 5 years from now you are going to ask yourself why you waisted the last 5 years worrying about it" Now to us we don't know what that exactly means but she sure did So yeah I believe that there is an energy of "knowing" that others can tap into and share it with others, but you just have to be careful on who to trust with this. That's why I listen to my resonation whenever I get a reading, I've tapped into some clairaudence before but it only happens when I'm on the verge of falling asleep but still alert. I actually believe we all have the ability to tap into this energy of intuition it's just many of us don't believe in it.

I did. My friend who was going through multiple miscarriages and infertility was with me. Everything she said was spot on including that my friend would be a mother in the spring. Her healthy baby boy was born that April She told me some things about my grandfather who was about to pass and told me that I would fall deeply in love with a friend from the west coast, someone I would never expect but I would know was right from day one and that she saw the letter W. I assumed it was my first love, from Texas but had been living in California for 12 years, his last name starts with a W and we happened to be taking about meeting up for a weekend not long after that. We're still great friends but 2 months before our trip a long time friend emailed me and we ended up chatting for hours on the phone catching up. When I spoke to my first love about it he was instantly like "as much as I'd like it to be me, I can't stop feeling like he's the one" and I agreed. After a couple months of talking we set up a first date (we lived 9 hours apart) and as soon as he pulled up I knew he was it. No question. It wasn't until a few weeks later talking to a friend who was asking about him and where things were going with our relationship that I realized he was born in California and lived there until 5 years before we started dating, his family is all there and it'll always be "home" and his last name also starts with a W. There was more to my session, all true.

I have a new SIL who found us a few years ago. DH's sister who was given up for adoption that we did not know about. We were talking about her trip to the psychic that she did a few years before we met. The woman hit the nail on the head quite a bit about her sons, but the one thing she didn't understand at the time was she said she saw a man in a uniform. SIL thought maybe it was her bio father, but looking back we think it was my DH (her long lost brother) who is in law enforcement. Of course, it could just be a pile of crap too but it made us smile.

My brother had a phone reading with Sylvia Browne's son, probably 10 years ago. Most of what he was told did, in fact, come to pass.
I had a phone reading with a psychic, too. It was less accurate but some of it was quite unique and did occur for me.

I had gone with a friend/employer to a mostly female geared weekend event at a big convention hotel where there were vendors and speakers and other activities. Her family owned a store and I worked for her and I was primarily there to sell so she could enjoy the event some. One of the other participants was a psychic who was giving readings in her suite during the weekend. So a friend who was also at the event and I decided to go get readings because I'd never done it before, but my friend was big time into psychic readings.
So we went and when it was my turn, the lady said she couldn't do my reading. No explanation, she just said she was sorry but she couldn't do a reading for me. That freaked my friend out. She felt that meant that I had some seriously bad juju that the psychic didn't want to get involved with. I just think the woman realized that I was just along with my friend, and not really into it.

I personally know a lot of psychics. The key is finding a reputable one (not the $10 reading neon sign lady)...but one who has good word of mouth reviews. I have many family members who have passed and I find it very comforting and healing to "hear" from them. Future stuff is cool to hear about also but it's often more about life path stuff than about how many grandchidren I might have. On the old board, I did angel card readings. I might start again!

The way I understand it is for energy readers to be able to read energy have to open their own energy up. Therefore in order for them to keep from being overwhelmed with all the energy they are reading (some even allow themselves to feel someone too ) they sheild themselves. The energy readers/healers I know deal with all sorts of people with the so called bad juju in order to cleanse them from it. I'm feeling that the reason the psychic didn't read you was because she felt you weren't ready. Unless you are open to someone talking about multidimensional and other out there stuff, then I may be wrong. I just felt that it wasn't about bad juju cause that tensed me up so I came to the first alternative that released my tension. Of course it depends on what type of psychic it was ( whether they had multi-dimensional awareness or not)

Back in the day it was the thing to do and I went to several. One time was a party hosted at my boss' house, when the boss and I compared notes we both got the same reading - boss's was true mine was just a copy of hers. The reader said we were to connected. Another time friends went to a psychic and got a really good reading, so another friend and I made an appointment - well she was a 'bit off' that night...it was very entertaining! I did go to one who was spot on, way to spot on - I would have loved to had another reading from her.
What was always funny is that they all wanted to tell me about my true love/prince charming/the love of my life and I never asked. But they would tell me anyway. I met this guy and a good friend put all the psychic 'readings' together and he fit. It was odd even the "bit off" reading was in there "I would know my prince when he came to me because he would be riding a white chariot" (like I said she was a bit off) This guy pulled up one day in a white Porsche...how much more chariot can you get??? Let's just say if he WAS my Prince Charming I am soooooo glad the shoe didn't fit!

I did once. She predicted stuff that didn't come true, but she talked about past things that were true. She said I had my grandmas chair. And descirbed it. No one knows about this chair, it is under a shelf in my basement. And she talked about animals I had growing up. I am not one to share my past, so it was weird having someone who knew.

I saw a psychic who read auras. It was a birthday party and we all had our auras read. It was freaking eerie how accurate this man was for all of us.

I'm not a fan of the future prediction stuff cause I believe that creates expectations that can effect the unfolding of the moments ahead. Bad news can cause dread that will effect the process of the moment unfolding and good need can cause eagerness that will effect the process of the moment unfolding. One energy will slow it down, the other will speed it up. But in order to be present I believe you need to let go of the control of it's speed and happenings. And I believe being present is the key to peace. The future stuff that I am into is like when someone suggests the person they are reading to start focusing on their life path "mission" cause they felt the person was feeling bored at what they were doing for a living at the time cause that person was feeling like their job they are doing wasn't meant to be. ( or at least not as long as they were doing it for )

I can see the first layer of people's aura if there is a white background. ( the etheric aura ) The next layer is starting to form too but it takes practice I think. There's an instruction in the book: The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield on how to see your energy between your fingers. Really cool stuff. It can be found on YouTube. It's like a light that dances around

I had my tea leaves read when I was 18 or 19. The only thing I remember from that is I was told I would have twins one day. Didn't happen.
A couple of years after that a girlfriend and I saw someone that gave you a choice of 2 from Tarot cards, aura, personal item or palm reading. I choose the Tarot cards and aura and it was eerily accurate with some things. He was really specific including the name, profession (gemologist) and timeframe I would meet my DH. The timeline didn't pan out, but the name is accurate and at the time of the reading DH was working in a closely related business. I kept a cassette recording of the reading for a few decades & many moves but never listened to it again.
I've never wanted to have another reading done.

I love this thread! I am way into conscious expansion stuff. Anyway some were talking about life paths and I wanted to share with you a numerology exploration activity you can do for kicks to see if your birthday adds up to a number of life path you can relate to . All you do is add up your month number , day, and year. So for example today is 9-22-2015 so that would be: 9+22+2015 = 2046 Next step is you condense it till it is a 2 digit number that the same number ( like 11,22,33...etc ) or a single digit number. So 2046 would be 2+0+4+6 is 12 Then you condense it again which would be 1 + 2 = 3 So the lifepath is 3. (Which is actually my life path ) Then you google life path 3 and read the interpretations that come up.

This is very long. Sorry.also spell check is off and I'm a rotten speller
I saw one and only one in 1995. My father has just died of cancer and my BFF took me to Napa for the weekend. She knew I wouldn't have break anytime soon to relax as my mother had put off hip surgery until my father had died and was scheduled for surgery Monday morning.
The woman took my friend first and spent about an hour with her. Took 20 min to clear her mind and then called me in. Told me I'd meet the man of my dream, some dark haired guy named Mark and have one daughter. I've been married to DH at that time for 15 years and we have two children a boy and a girl with no plans for more, ( now to be fair this was pre RA and I did look much younger than my age of 39, sadly now I look older than my actual age, but such is life.) then said that's it and ushered me out. At the most 5 minutes for sixty-five dollars.
My friend and I laughed it off, with me claiming she'd sucked the life out of the psychic. And boy was DH going to be mad when I left him for Mark. We're still happily married and no sign of Mark.
I returned home Sunday and forgot the whole thing. Monday mom has her surgery and dies on the table, they bring her back to life, but she's never conscious again and dies a few weeks later, at the same time dh's brother's wife leaves him and their kids for drugs and some guy, and wipes out their bank account. DBILworks nights so they move in so I can take care of the kids. He loses his house as she hadn't paid anything but utilities is months.
Everyone was in grief therapy and learning their new normal.
Last year BFF brought up sucking the life out of the Psychic and we laughed again. But later I mentioned it to DH and he said maybe she saw your whole life changing and not in a good way and couldn't tell you and change your free will.
I thought about it. I took mom to the hospital that day. Getting mom in the car was hard, she had a galloping form of RA and was dependent for everything and bed bound and would still be after the surgery, as DS in putting her in the car, DD is crying saying I have a bad feeling, mom looks scared and I too have a bad feeling, I asked mom several time we can call it off, but she kept saying no. I'm writing Thank you cards for dad's funeral when they tell me. I wasn't surprised, but mom was a nurse and knew her liver had been destroyed by massive doses of Methotrexate and that she and dad had spent fourty years and 3 days together. She was only able to take Tylenol because of her liver and would spend the rest of her days in bed or a wheelchair. So not her thing.
Their deaths changed us land made us stronger. DH and I had never tested our relationship, we'd had few problems and good and healthy children. Well we got tested. DH and my brother fell into a business opportunity during this same time period. Long hours, shaky money situation, but happy husband. We adapted and are even happier. So DH was right about the psychic but I think also wrong. We need sorrow and anger, and blind determination to learn how to survive, be strong and know our own strengths.
Of course it just might be that BFF sucked the life out of her.

I used to see a little old British lady that read tea leaves, and a regular deck of playing cards. She was always very accurate. The first time I saw her she knew I had married my HS sweetheart, and had 6 miscarriages. She told me the next time I got pregnant it would be a boy, and I would have a girl 4 years later. I never had another miscarriage. I got pregnant with DS about 3 months later, and DD was born 4 years and 25 days after DS. We had planned on DS being an only child, and DD was a total wonderful oops. I used to see her once a year. She had a 3+ month waiting list for appointments.
One time, I took one of my BFFs to see her. She asked him if he was a famous singer, because she saw people listening to him on the radio, and him being around a lot famous singers. He was a DJ and the programming director of our hard rock radio station. She was in her early 80's with no children or grandchildren, and he sounded nothing like his on air persona in person. The appointment was in my name. There was no way she knew who he was. She wasn't one to hold back (she worked out of her home), and told him he would not live a long life. He was a 25 year vegan, teetotaler, fitness buff, and died of a heart attack 3 months before he turned 50. She passed shorty after he did. I've never been to anyone else.

Yes and she was spot on.
I went with my boss at the time, and the lady came into the hall that we were sitting in and told her to get out. The lady said that she was too negative and was messing up the house.

One of the things that she told me was , and she did this with great difficulty, that I would only have two living children , a boy and a girl. Son came so easy, but daughter not so much. I had a couple of misses before her and then a couple of more after.
