Made it home just in time to take DS to his class tonight. Oven element is broken, so quick and easy stove-top meal. DS in college called and sounded really happy.

Grandkids were tired from our trip to SF. Zoo yesterday. Lots of naps, two even overlapped!
Have a new phrase for things you never thought would come out of you mouth. (Take your penis out of your yogurt)
Good news at the dentist. This never happens.
While at the dentist DH rearranged the living room furniture. It's awful but I couldn't hurt him and tell him No! They (he and the grandkids were so pleased to surprise me with this wonderful change.). He'd paid the grandkids $5 each to help, they were so excited. So I'm stuck for a while. HE PUT THE COUCH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM. No really, right in the middle, it cuts our large L shaped room right down the middle.
I still love this man.

I posted on the 9/22 thread but it was really today, so I'll copy and share here. (I like these threads and look forward to more!) I read above post before going out to mow lawn. And mow lawn. And mow lawn.... But several things made me while mowing said lawn. 1. Perfect weather. 72, sunny, slight breeze. 2. Took a bit longer to mow as had to stop and relocate toads and frogs to keep them safe. Reminded me on now-in-college DD who would do same thing and more. 3. Shaded area had a few mushrooms pop up because of recent rain. Reminded me of now-high-school DS who as little boy used to shoot mushrooms with his spring powered BB gun. Never had the heart to be any more fierce. 4. This time of year I see a lot of hickory nut hulls in yard from squirrels taking nuts from nearby trees to store away. For years, one squirrel would always shell them on a cement bench on edge of lawn and stack them there. Moss grows on the bench everywhere except a patch on each end where the acid from the nut hull pyramids prevented moss growth. This year, I've seen them everywhere except on the bench. I was thinking my little squirrel friend had headed to the great hickory nut tree in the sky. Until now! The start of a nut pyramid has started on the bench! Either "He Lives!" or he has passed on the tradition. Either way, it made me 5. I remembered this thread when I came back in, that always makes me and wanted to share my simple pleasures. And that also makes me

My adorable almost 3 year old nephew. He is just starting to master the English language and says the cutest things. He thinks every bug he sees is a bee and is very serious about me doing something about the bee. Until recently he called all animals Kitty. He calls me Bobby. That's not my name. Close though. He says Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, I say What? He then shows me his mouth full of chewed up food just because he knows I hate that and then he giggles. And yes I have to look or he just stands there saying Bobby over and over and over. When he giggles I smile. The way he pretends to cry when he doesn't get his way and then peeks at me to see if it's working makes me laugh.

We enjoyed a cool and rainy evening. Maybe later in the fall and into winter, this won't be a special event, but at the end of a long summer, it's bliss.

I took a half day yesterday and spent the afternoon just doing me. It has been a very busy couple of months with moving and I needed a break away from SO and daughter. Much needed and I smiled.

DS dropped DD off at school for me (OK he needed to go there anyway) and came home with a donut and hot chocolate for me!
