Yes I'm sure the way I went about mine will be slightly different than most:
Reading this quote from Lao Tzu really inspired me:
"If you are depressed, you are living in the past.
If you are anxious, you are living in the future.
If you are at peace, you are living in the present."
So I looked for present moment information.
I found the book: The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle
www.slideshare.net/mobile/Huongclass/eckhart-tolle-the-power-of-now-29591940And this book that is now out of print but it was so great:
www.trans4mind.com/counterpoint/index-happiness-wellbeing/cushnir2.shtmlI did that color scanning exercise and instantly felt better.
Reading just that one sentence in it:
"But what does living in the moment really look like? Feel like? And, most important, how does one actually do it?"
I started feeling like I may have been seeing the present moment differently than how it's meant to be seen. ( or atleast for me )
Another quote I read that really intrigued me:
"Go 24 hours without complaining ( not even once ) .
Then watch how your life starts changing." - Katrina Mayer
It was hard but I did that and it was like I have a present self that I lost connection with and reconnected with her. It was amazing.
You know as a kid when your at Disneyland or waking up Christmas morning? That's what it felt like.
Heaven on Earth.
One thing I feel is that my "what if" thoughts and dread and feeling of missing when things were easier and guilt did not exist in the present.
Though I have to stress that the emotions that are suppressed need to be released through some type of expressive outlet.
BTW 316 is a number I see a lot. I call it my synchronistic number
and I'm not just talking about seeing it as a bible verse. I see it on the clock, on a score board, it's my birthday numbers , it's the change I get back from a purchase. And the more present I get, the more of these synchronistic moments happen.
