I was wondering if any peas pay for Apple's music subscription. The family one is $14.99/mo and I'm wondering if in the long run it would save any on iTunes money for the teen in the house.
Any reviews?
One I read said it could mess with your existing library's rights and not play songs you do own while offline. Anyone run into that?
Thanks for any reviews

I signed up for it, but have since canceled before my trial period is up. It doesn't seem to be very user friendly and all I noticed was my own music was harder to find and at least one of my playlists has vanished all together. I don't have a teen in the house though, so it really wasn't getting used enough to warrant the monthly cost.

I'm very wary of paying for yet another monthly sub! I have the free version of Spotify and with that and ITunes am pretty much sorted.

I have it and love it. The My Music tab on the bottom far right is where you find your own music, including playlists. There is a choice at the top of the screen to only display music ON the iphone (ie not in the cloud).
What I love is all of the Apple playlists they create, by all sorts of genres, artists, and "activities," such as dancing, cooking, commuting, breaking up. And any music, including albums and playlists, can be downloaded for offline listening. So while you're in a wifi area you download it to your phone, so you can listen to it later without using data. I love that. I assume that if I cancel the subscription I would lose those downloads.
Oh, I also love that it "learns" your tastes in music and presents you with choices that you would probably like. And if you don't like it, you can tell it that you don't like a particular suggestion and then I guess it learns from that too.
I haven't bought any music at all since getting this. The first three months is free, so I think you should give it a try and see what you think.

We have two teens and a hubby who is a music nut. It's been well worth it for us. I haven't had any issues trying to find my own music/play lists.

I have it free for a year through my mobile provider. Not sure that I'd have signed up without it, but as it turns out I'm loving it. The ability to download and listen to virtually whatever I want, whenever I want, is awesome.

We have it and like it. Our free trial runs out next week and we are going to keep it. Neither of us have had any issues with it at all.

I really enjoy the subscription service too! I haven't bought anything new in months since I've had the service. I love that you can use it for free for 3 months first.

I switched from Spotify Premium to Apple Music family plan because it's cheaper to do the family plan. DS (the family's music nut) says that iTunes has a more extensive library than Spotify, but honestly, I liked Spotify better. Spotify was more user-friendly, and I loved that you could look for all kinds of playlists that people had put together, and then "follow" that playlist (really like saving it, but you also see/get updates to the list if the creator makes them). I haven't noticed a huge influx of songs that I wanted but couldn't find. But DS is the one who likes all kinds of obscure/hard to find stuff. Apple Music frustrated me so much in the early days, that I hardly even use it now. I lost a lot of my playlists, and all of my customized ringtones when they rolled it out. I'm probably going to give it until Christmas, and then seriously consider switching back.
