Anyone watch the Series finale last night? I just finished it. It was very well done and I loved how they tied in everyone (except Nick...they should have brought back Nick). The Lady Heather bring back was surprising but awesome.
The ending was how it should be and I was happy. Ted Danson is moving to CSI Cyber. Can't wait to see him there.

I agree, it was well done and the ending was perfect. I too wondered about Nick but didn't he leave the show under less than the best conditions? Wasn't there a salary/contract dispute? Anyway, his absence was so noticeable. Otherwise, a good final episode. I'm not wild about CSI Cyber so probably won't be watching that one.

I don't like Cyber either so it was a real CSI goodbye for me. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the actor that played Nick declined coming back. I liked the part with Grissom and Sarah but can't stand Marg WhateverHerLastNameIs and didn't like having her back. Would have liked to see more of the rest if the team. Oh well. Sad it's over.

I just dumped all of Cyber off my recorder -- I just didn't care for it -- I generally don't care about "duplicates" or a "spin off". It was enjoyable to see a finale -- since I really haven't watched it much since Gil left -- but I don't remember Gil being so ... disconnected ... from the forensic parts of the show.

William Petersen did look a bit worse for wear. He looked worn down to me.
I like CSI Cyber but it's not the best one. I just tolerate Patricia Arquette. Hoping Ted Danson will bring something great to the show.

Well CRAP!, I didn't realize it was on last night. I have watched CSI from the very beginning.
I'll have to look for it On Demand or maybe they will replay it.

I thought it was an awful awful ending. way too much time spent on Grisom and Sydle who have the worst romantic chemistry possible. Grisom and Nick had more romantic chemistry than he and Sydle. blech. i would have liked to have seen some clips from the past. file that episode with the final episode of Seinfeld. on a good note, it was great to see Grisom, Brass, and Catherine back.

Crap I thought that was this coming weekend!
I stopped watching but wanted to watch the finale since Grissom would be back for it. Now I need to see if it is available on demand.

I meant to watch it...but didn't. I like the idea that they did a 2 hour show to finish it up at the beginning of the season, instead of running it through the season with a season/series finale.

I liked it, but it didn't really feel right to me. Gil was very off, like William Petersen forgot how to play the character. I do like Gil and Sara, and like that way it resolved. I did not like that the episode was about Lady Heather. That also put more focus on Grissom and off of the rest of the cast. I felt like the current characters were barely there. I would have liked to have seen a lot more Greg especially. I almost felt like they were disrespecting the actors who have been doing the show faithfully for the past few years.
I'm so glad Ted Danson is going to CSI Cyber. I haven't been watching it, but will now. I love DB, and he really made the show where I could watch it again. I had stopped during Laurence Fishburn's tenure, I just never warmed to him.

I watched it and didn't realize it was the final until the very end.
I agree that Sara and Gil had NO chemistry, but I was glad that they wound up together. They both struggled so much with how doing their jobs affected their lives--like real LEOs do (they have the highest divorce rates). I'm glad that they wound up together.
I did see Greg and Ecklie's daughter hug at end. I guess that's them pairing off.
Catherine was not good at all. I also thought her daughter becoming a CSI was kinda cool, but it was exactly what happened on the finale of ER--Edward's daughter started.

It tied things up a bit and that was good.

Oh, shoot, I missed it, too! I don't think I've watched the show since WP left... I know I never watched Ted Danson (don't care for him).
The original CSI was always my favorite. Glad to hear it had a good ending.

dH and I watched it last night and both hated it! SO MANY inconsistencies and loose ends! How long were those two kids waiting to find out their mother was dead, why wasn't there any other member of family or children's aide there when they were told. Who was the woman who was in the bomb car (lady Heather look alike) and why? The whole case is about bombs, biut for the biggest one, there is not a single sole from the bomb squad on site to say which wire to cut, so we'll just guess and hope to get it right? Omg, I need Advil for my sore eyes this morning from all the eye rolls! Oh, and isn't Grissom (who looked awful and worn out) a civilian now? Why did the cops let him enter the building first.....I could go on and on......

It wasn't bad but I totally agree about the Grissom/Sidle chemistry. Also did we ever find out what happened to Finley? All I saw was a plaque and a quick reference?

I also was disappointed in bringing back Lady Heather, found myself fast forwarding through her scenes. The one case I wish they had solved was one of Sara's...the young girl who was attacked during a home invasion, the family originally was not going to even report it, and right after she came forward she was murdered in her driveway...keep hoping they would tie that one up.
Wish there was more of Greg, Morgan, and Hodges. I know I'm kind of 'mean' but I kept thinking they finally got Morgan's makeup right. In the past, I just felt her makeup was too much.
Finlay's plaque said 'end of watch' so that means she died. I stopped watching mid season last year...so guess I'd better catch up.
And I did like Sara and Gil together at the end. Better than Lady Heather...

We watched it (well, the 2nd half anyway, we were watching the moon while we could for the 1st half!). I really liked it! I was happy with how they tied everything up. And I have not watched that show for at least 7 years, but I love watching series finales.
I was not shocked at all that they brought the Lady Heather character back out. Somehow I just knew when Grisom first popped onto the screen that somehow Lady Heather would be making an appearance. I have no idea if she had continued to be involved in plot lines after Grisom left the show.
I love love love that they had Sara and Gil end up together! Loved it!
My only complaint is where the heck was Nick???

I agree with a lot of that. Maybe I'd take off one "awful". I wish they had brought back the miniature killer. That was my favorite storyline. Although they implied she was going to die the last time she was in an episode so featuring her probably wasn't an option.

So mad. My DVR cut off the last 1/2 hour so I missed the ending. I'll have to find it somewhere to watch. Maybe they'll play it again this season.

I loved the miniature killer plotline. so many ways they could have gone and used Grissom. and he was just so...blah. that's why it got the double awful. if they had brought Warrick back in a dream or flashback I may have left it at just one awful. LOL
