My office orders Jimmy John's for lunch on occasion. It's fine for free food, but I can't believe people would choose to buy this for their lunch. My brothers rave about it, but I just don't get the appeal. It's lunch meat on bread with lettuce and tomato. It's not wow by any means.
Anyone else not get the fuss people make about some other particular food?

Do you feel that way about deli sandwiches in general or just JJ? I like JJ because it's always clean and fast. And my order is *always* right.
But in general, I don't get the raving over carryout. A passable meal turned barely warm and rubbery. I'd much rather run and get something or bring something from home that do takeout.

Chipotle: we tend to go into the city often and we tried it since my area doesn't have it. Talk about a let down! The rice was hard, chicken was chewy and no taste. It may have been this specific one idk since we haven't tried it again. I do think the amount of food you get it worth the price.

I agree on Jimmy Johns. blech. I'll only eat it when it's free and I have to. I also tried chipotle and didn't like it .

I had Jimmy John's once, bleh. And I didn't like Chipotle the one time I had it either. Maybe I ordered the wrong things.
I am generally not a big pizza person and rarely get excited by takeout pizza.

I do like Jimmy Johns - for the bread. I'm not a big sandwich fan in the first place, so it's not one of my top choices.
Chipotle = Not a big fan. It's OK.
I don't care for Sonic.

In and Out. People go nuts over it. I had it once about 15 years ago and that was enough. The food was not good at all. I do like their employment practices though. Also, Chipotle. I go about once a year and it's never very good. It's not bad but nothing to write home about either.

I don't order from them anymore. Their food is just OK, then, in their speediness, they get my order incorrect.

5 Guys and Culver's. I don't really know a lot about Culver's (we have the only Culver's in our state a mile away from me). I have just seen that some people on this board like it, but I don't get the hype. The food is just meh. My daughter works there, though, so we do go from time to time to support her.

Sandwich places in general. As someone else said, fine for a free lunch but if I'm going to have a sandwich I'd rather make it myself and have it be right.

In and Out for sure. Don't get what the cult is all about. I feel the same about JJs too. To me it is just a sandwich, and best left to those late working nights or other times when you are starving and only order from them because they deliver.
Now Five Guys I adore... such juicy, delicious burgers.
Oh also, I don't get Panda Express. We have a local, family owned Chinese restaurant that is super fresh and speedy. I mush prefer them over PE.

We used to have a Quizno's, and I thought that was much better. Possibly it was because they ran it through that oven to melt the cheese and make it toasty. And they had sauces. Jimmy John's seems to rely on mayo, and quite a bit of it. I always hear about how amazing In and Out Burger is. This thread is making me feel better about never having had it. However, I will continue to rave about Chipotle.

Red Lobster. I do not get it - at all.
I'll pretty much eat anywhere and grin and bear it if it's not my favorite, but if Red Lobster is the suggested place, I'll meet up afterwards or stay home. I absolutely hate that place. Everything is swimming in metallic tasting butter.

I love JJ but also just for their bread. Specifically their 7-grain wheat bread. It is so good. I would just love to call them up once and order just a loaf of it. I've told my co-worker one of these days I'm going to place an order and have them hold everything except the bread.
For me it would be Chipotle. People I knew raved about it but we didn't have one here. When they first opened one, the lines were ridiculous for the first few weeks. When I finally got around to trying one, I was not impressed at all.

In and Out. I don't get the appeal - especially the fries which always seem under-cooked.

Anyone else not get the fuss people make about some other particular food? I fell in love with JJ's while visiting my main office in the outskirts of Chicago. I was so happy when one opened semi close to us. And then found it tasted nothing like what I had in Chicago...so disappointed. Around me, everyone likes one or two particular Chinese take out places. I think they're all gross. I finally found a place that's a 40 minute drive...in one direction. I don't go often as a result, but at least I know when I do, I won't be disappointed.

As someone who has lived near the ocean basically her whole life and is used to extremely fresh seafood prepared well, I had no expectation of it coming anywhere close to how I'm used to eating seafood. They still managed to be far worse than I expected. I also don't get Cheesecake Factory. Ridiculous portions, too many options (no way ingredients are fresh when they have to stock so many), overly salty but otherwise bland. Yet... it is always packed.

When I finally tried the pork I was hooked. And now they can't find a pork producer who fits their guidelines, so I don't go at all though I'd like to. It also really depends on each location and whether they are producing the food properly. I've been to a few that it was just not right, based on my experience at other locations.

As for the question, I don't like Panda Express or Subway.

Too many places to count. Pretty much all fast food places to me are gross, I'm not a deli sandwich person or a pizza person, I also don't really like chain restaurants (Olive Garden, Chillis, Red Lobster, etc. etc.). I admit it, I'm a food snob.

I like it because it's good quality and has some great healthy options that I can eat. I, however, do not consider it mexican food.

I only eat JJ if it's free at work, lol. I'm not a huge chain restaurant fan in general. In my town we have so many good, non-chain places that I'd much rather eat at those with homemade bread, soup, etc....
I agree with the Red Lobster, Panda Express, and Olive Garden, but the one that always gets me is Apple Bee's. There is nothing there that I've ever had that was good.
