I've never made smaller loaves, but would like to for some gifts this year. I'm going to do a "dry run" with a new cranberry pumpkin bread recipe I just found. According to the directions and comments it makes two large loaves in standard loaf pans (some people divided it into 3 standard loaf pans), and bakes for 60-70 minutes. The paper loaf pans I bought today measure 6 x 2 1/2 x 2. They are THESE . I know I'll probably need to futz around a bit with the timing, but if you've baked this size of loaf, could you give me a general idea of when to start checking them? I've tried googling without luck...maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Thanks for your help!

When I bake mini loaves of any kind of bread, I start with setting the timer for 1/2 of what it would be for a regular sized loaf and then just keep an eye on it after that 1/2 time is up. On average, it normally takes an additional 5 - 15 minutes to be done. I then write down the baking time on the recipe for future baking.

ETA: If you Google 'baking time for mini pumpkin loaves' you'll get a lot of hits.

I'd guess between 25-40 minutes, depending on how dense and how wet the batter is. I'd set the timer for 20 minutes and see what it looks like then. Try not to open the oven door, but just turn the light on.
I made both pumpkin and banana bread last weekend. The banana bread took about 25 minutes, the pumpkin 35 minutes. I would have guessed the other way around, but the banana bread was really light this time.

I just made some pumpkin chocolate chip loaves that size, and I cooked them 32 minutes, but I think they could have used a couple more.

Thank you! I'll start peeking at 25 minutes and will check them with a toothpick at 30. I might just bake one by itself first. And I don't know why I didn't get the info I wanted when I googled. I'm tired...and I'm running with that excuse
