Good morning! I was up till 1 this morning but got my layout finished! I will post the link at the bottom of this posting. Wow Nylene you have been very busy! How is Em doing? I know Alex has been keeping you busy. What a shame about the scouts. I totally get what you are saying about the outdoor stuff as I know I could not do it. I have not done one hike this year. My legs and feet have been really bothering me since they took me off my arthritis meds. I had to stop those due to the blood thinners. I love the thought of solar windows/panels. It would be nice to get enough energy to run the tv's or garage door openers! LOL Kelly-A big Hi to you girl friend. Waiting to see some of that artistic talent of yours! Cindy, I love everything about your layout. Such a cute grown up guy he is. He was such a little boy when we first started seeing layouts about him. This is just delightful. I definitely plan to scraplift this. Hand stitching is going above and beyond! Fabulous job. I'm sorry about your arthritis meds needing to stop. I can't take them because of my kidneys and sometimes wish I could. My internist prescribed something I could take occasionally, but Anacin works better for me. It's not fun feeling old and decrepit, is it. I dread the winter coming. They are installing the panels on the roof right now. I can't leave the house without a hard hat so I'm stuck inside until they finish. I have caution tape up all around the yard. Guess they don't want to drop something on a head and have a lawsuit. I hope this really does help our power bill. There is $0 investment from us, and they guarantee that it will run 80% of our power. We will pay less than half of what we have been paying monthly to this company, and any residue (15-20%) will be paid to the power company at the lowest rate. They own the panels so if they get broken in a hail storm, they replace them. If we decide it's not worth it to us, they'll remove them. Several of our neighbors have done it and are very happy with the results. Here is a page I finished and finally got scanned. Sweet Emily 1981 by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Good Friday morning! I hope everyone is excited to begin their weekend. I have both kids today as they are out of school for meetings. I did get a page scrapped last night and have posted and will link at the end of this post. I have been up since 3 this morning and it is really tired out. Hopefully to doze off & on in my chair. That is after we go to Gander Mountain. Want to look at new winter jacket. Wow Nylene that really does sound like a good deal. Wish they had it here. Ok here's the link to Maggie's page: Maggie Back to School by Cindy Blair, on Flickr I will be back later! Have a great weekend!

Cindy, I love your layout. Cute little Miss Maggie! You need to post this in the Stash Challenge. You have at least 3 or 4 items listed for this month. You don't have to use everything and you can substitute whatever you'd like. I am still working on my scraproom. I am organizing what is on my wall shelves now. I'm trying to put things I don't use often up high. I hate being so short and having such a small reach. Seems like I can't get enough of what I use often down low enough to reach easily. I posted a card last night and didn't link it here, so will do that in this post. Kelly, I hope you are getting some scrappy time. We did some water coloring at Card Club last night and I was all thumbs. Wish I had your artistic abilities! Flying By Paper Planes by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Happy Friday! I had a nice day so far and hope yours is nice too. You ladies have really been scrapping and card making. All your creations are so wonderful! I think I have been on creative excitement overload! LOL! I am so excited about resuming my home deco projects. So I have been a busy bee cleaning and some creating. Then, I saw some of Mark Montano's Youtube videos and boy were they fun and easy diy projects. Here is his website. Make Your Mark I got so many ideas and can't wait to try some of them. I had to just narrow my focus now because a few mornings I woke up and had a hard time going back to sleep because of excitement! LOL! Sew Mishap-I am so bummed! Remember my pillow case cover project? Well, I picked it up to finish it today. Then my needle hit one of the stick pins and BROKE!!! After all this time to finally start again and now I gotta pause until I can get some new ones. I wanted to start sewing my window valances too so I think I am gonna try some no sew adhesive so I can get that going soon. Cindy- You have been busy and not getting enough sleep! LOL! But if we are going to loose sleep it is best when it is because of having fun! Your layouts are so good. That demin pp is so fun and just perfect for your dgs's page. The pretty aqua on your dgd's page is so pretty for her. Nylene- You have been busy too. I can't believe you got all those Christmas cards done already. Girl, you are really creating around there. Glad they got your solar panels done. Your layouts and that paper kite card are just beautiful. I had hoped to get some scrappin time in with the pics from last weekends beach trip but some how I can't find the pics on my computer!!!! We had a security problem so maybe when they fixed the problem, I lost that pic file. So weird!

It's Sunday night and I hope you ladies had a nice weekend. On Sat. we went to a little craft fair at the local library. It was more like a rummage sale. I had a ball buying things and they had a half off sale by the time we got there! So I spent $2.00 and walked away with three stamps, two wooden frames, and a table cloth. Then I bought a few more things in the library gift shop. I think I spent $3.00 in all! That was so fun! LOL! So next year I will totally be going to this sale.
Also, I am taking another class at M's this Tuesday. It is a free wreath deco class. The wreath they are making is cute but I think I will make my own design. I still want to go to the class so I can learn how to put it together. It should be fun.
Well, waving hi and hope you have a nice evening.

Kelly, your class at M's and your great craft fair bargains sound great. Be sure to post a photo of your wreath when you finish it. I still have a summer wreath on my door and DH thinks I'm just begging summer to come back so winter is not so close! LOL! I made a Fall wreath last year and it's downstairs, but I haven't taken the time to go get it. Did you get a new sewing machine needle? I'm sorry you had that happen! It's sad when you are "in the zone" and then something breaks and you need to stop. My embossing gun quit on me yesterday in the middle of some embossing. Rats! Had to wait until today to replace it.
Cindy, are the grands getting excited for Halloween? The kids at school are so excited for the Halloween Party day on Friday, that they aren't paying much attention to reading! It's kind of like just before Christmas at school. Em's kids are more excited to dress up for their Dad's work party than to actually Trick-or-Treat. They hand out gifts and full size candy bars at his job, and usually take all the kids to a theater for a special movie.
I decided I wanted to try misting again. I tried once before, but just made a mess. Yesterday I used some Heidi Swapp gold shine and it worked a bit better. I know I need more practice. I'll scan and post my layout later. It has thick embellishments so I may have to photograph it instead and it's always hard for me to figure out how to download the photo and get it where I can post it. I'm so techno-challenged!
BTW, Cindy, I figured out my printer, but it suddenly stopped working Sunday morning. I worked and worked on it, read all the suggestions, and still couldn't get it to work. I hated to call Em's DH, but finally did. He worked for an hour on it. It had something to do with the drivers. The only thing we can figure was when they turned off my power to connect the solar panels, something went wrong. It is now back running and he can print on it from his phone too. He's amazing!
If I don't get back before Saturday, I wish you all a Happy Halloween! I'll post a new thread Sat. night.

Oh Nylene I am so glad you got that printer working. Tell him I said Thank You too! I know how frustrating it can be. The kids are excited for Halloween. They get to wear their costumes Friday to school. Maggie is going to be angel. I made the costume from a pattern and it was a not as long as I thought should be. I was going to add a ruffle to the hemline but she did not want it. She said she is going to wear blue jeans under it and be an " Angel In Blue Jeans" I was about to roll on the floor but I thought it was a fun idea! Kids in middle school will get it. Bobby is going to be Captain America! He was so excited today as he gets to write a story based on science fiction and he loves that.
I hate when things quit working when you are using them. I have a newer sewing machine and I have not used it much and it was giving me fits while making Maggie's costume-by the way we bought wings and halo. I had to put the dvd that came with it in order to thread it! LOL
Hi Kelly! Miss you! Ohio State is off this weekend!
Ok running out of fun things to talk about-Have pics to get scrapped but have been watching the Voice on Monday & Tuesday. Love that show. BBL!!!

I tried to post my layout but although it previews OK, it won't post. I posted it on the Sketch/Scraplift challenge and it worked fine. I'll try again in the morning.
Cindy, Maggie's costume sounds so cute. The angel is perfect for her. Our students could all wear superhero costumes today and there was a whole school of Captain America! Monday was red ribbon day, Tuesday was Crazy Hair day, and superheros today. I can't remember what tomorrow is, but Friday with be Halloween costumes. It's a crazy week! Glad you got your sewing machine going. I have a serger that I have to review every time I thread it. I'm tempted to give it to one of the girls because I don't use it much.

Trying again. Denim & Sparkle by Nylene Budge, on Flickr This time it worked. This is our Cassidy. She's a tiny little thing and could be so spoiled, but she is sweet and easy-going. She looks gorgeous all dressed up in lace and sparkle, but she is more comfy hanging out in denims. Sorry that the scan is so bad. The scanner really doesn't like my denim flowers.

Hey ladies! I am relaxing now and watching NBA basketball. The season just started yesterday and my Lakers first game is tonight. So I am happy about that. Oh, I did go the floral wreath class last night. Over the weekend, I bought the wreath and the yarn but decided to wait. I want to make something I really will like and not their design. It turned out no one there was even making a wreath. So, the teacher was nice and gave me some tips on how to make mine when I am ready. Then I found out she will be having this class again next month. So that will be great and give me some time to get my goodies together and she will help me. I stayed awhile and watched the two other ladies as they were making a holiday floral arrangement. They were pretty and I know they will enjoy at home. Yes, I will share pics of my wreath when I get it done. Cindy- It is so good to hear you are sewing! I know how you feel. I haven't sewn in ages and just threading and the bobbin were a trick. I watched youtube to learn how. I hope you share some pics. I know she will look cute as the cool angel. Nylene- Glad to see ya. Girl, you are really busy and happy you are having fun. No, I still have to get my needles for my sewing machine. I got some "No Sew" adhesive until I can get my machine going again. So I am excited to see how this stuff works. I say, keep your summer wreath up as long as you want. LOL! Maybe it will make you feel warm and sunny as it gets chilly. Your lo of your dgd is so pretty. I am going over to take a look at it.

Hey ladies! Here we are beginning another weekend and finishing up another month. Thought I would let you know how Maggie did in the Halloween window painting contest-she came in third. I will be doing a page about this so you will be able to see her trophy! I am down in the dumps as I found out today that my doctor is retiring the end of the year. He is going to be hard to replace as there are not many like him around. well it is late and I am going to hit the hay. Be back tomorrow.

Cindy, I'm so sorry about your doctor's retirement. It's so hard to start over with a new doctor who looks like he just stepped out of Jr. High! Steve has had surgery twice by our kids' friend who gave them all chicken pox years ago. Doesn't seem possible. Good luck in find the perfect fit for you. I'll post the new thread later tonight while watching for Trick or Treaters. If I don't get to it, it will be tomorrow afternoon.
Have a Happy Halloween!
