That thread reminded me of this article that was in the Daily Mail this summer. It's really picture heavy, and just shows how Princess Anne has worn and slightly remodelled and reaccessorised some seriously vintage clothes from her wardrobe over the years. Her figure has barely changed at all. I just wish she'd updated her hair style over the years too as it's the only thing that ages her.

I agree her hairstyle is stuck in a serious time warp but she's great at recycling certainly! I wonder what her looks like when she wakes up.....

I agree that it's not a flattering hairstyle, but she's never struck me as a vain woman, so it's probably the one that takes up the least amount of time and is easy to do when she's wearing hats too. Plus she's just taking after her mother, The Queen has had the same hairstyle herself for a about 70 years!

I agree with the quote from Princess Anne where she says "A good suit goes on for ever. If it is properly made and has a classic look, you can wear it ad infinitum". Add coat to suit as well. I don't think any of these outfits look dated. I do think it is a little funny that the article seems to be marveling over the fact that she wore the same coat 6 times over 25 years. But they do give her props from still fitting into the outfits after all these years!

Six times in twenty-five years I wish I'd maintained the same shape in 25 years!

She looks wonderful, and I love the slightly-disapproving-but-not-outright-insulting tone of the article.

Good for her! She's right - the clothes are classics and don't look dated (well, in terms of what British royalty wears). And kudos to her for still fitting in them!

What a fun article! Thanks for sharing.
We already see Kate doing the same thing, but she has many more years to go.

I've always liked Princess Anne. She seems so normal (well, as normal as she can be).

I think that is absolutely excellent. Why not? She still fits in them beautifully, they still all look great, and she likes them. So why feel you must wear it only once? Good for her. And thanks, OP, for sharing.

Loved this. I also appreciate wearing clothes for a good long time. If something is trendy, not so much, but a good sweater or pair of slacks can last a long time. I am currently wearing a pair of jeans that I have had for 10+ years. I know lots of women do that. I don't get the "someone has seen me wear this" mentality for clothes. If I buy good brands that last, I want to keep them.

I'm impressed at how timeless her outfits are. I loved the pale blue coat that appeared both belted and unbelted, and looked gorgeous either way.

Fascinating. I wonder if she faced the scrutiny & insults that Diana & Fergie did

What a fun article! Did you see where it said that she has an entire WING for her clothes? And they're all individually maintained in dust-protecting packaging, including accessories, and kept carefully climate-controlled? Whoa.

I can't manage to stay the same size one year to the next - I'm jealous of that!

I wonder if she faced the scrutiny & insults that Diana & Fergie did I don't remember that she ever has apart from her wedding dress maybe. She would have shot it down or ignored such nonsense anyway I'm sure, she known not to suffer fools gladly
