I'm looking forward to buying it.
I plan to have the whole illustrated series(as they come out). I've heard it's beautiful!

I bought this yesterday at Barnes and Noble as a belated birthday gift for...me! The book is absolutely gorgeous!!! Can't wait to dive into it after I finish the book I am currently reading. Jill

What's your take on "his" Hermione? Am I misinterpreting? Honestly, it has been a long time since we have listened to them. I'll try to have a listen and come back. I think the problem is Stephen has a very masculine voice so to feminize it for audio only would sound whiny. FWIW I adore Stephen, so underrated. I love him, too, which is why I jumped through hoops to get his version! I admit to reading a lot of HP fanfic, and prefer the stories that have a strong Hermione. Perhaps JKR really did write her to be whiny and SF has it right, but that's not how she (Hermione) is in my head.

Jill Is B&N carrying Philosopher's Stone (UK text) or Sorcerer's Stone (US text)? i noticed that on Amazon it looks like I have to purchase from a third party to get the UK book. I do that often and don't mind, but would buy it locally if I could get the UK book. I don't care about the price difference, I just want the right book. Philosopher's Stone
Sorcerer's Stone

At what age could a child read this? My grandson is 4 but loves books. Do you think it's too old for him?
ETA: Amazon already says it's temporarily out of stock.

Somewhere from about 10 years old on because each book is meant to be a school year and the themes mature accordingly.

Just thought I would let you know I was in Target last night and they have the illustrated HP book there. Didn't notice if it was a discounted book or not as I already have my copy.

I like the ones that stay true to JKR's vision and Canon. Where do you mostly read from? I've gone through most of the best ones on Fanfiction and Mugglenet. My fave author by far is Littlebird on Fanfic. She is amazing and her stories are as good as the originals. I haven't been able to find the illustrated ones yet. Going to check Chapters and Indigo this weekend.

Going to check Chapters and Indigo this weekend. I read from fanfic.net, ashwinder, grangerenchanted and a bit from other sites. I like the format at fanfic best, but I've pretty much scoured the site for my favorite ships. I like Snape to be alive and (eventually) happy, so you & I are at cross purposes if you're a Sirius fan. lol I've read some Lucius, too, but few writers manage to portray him to my liking. (And I do like me some Lucius now and again. ) My favorite authors are (partially C&Ped from my ffn account, so the order doesn't mean anything): Aurette dressagegrrrl Laurilove georgesgurl117 dragoon811 worrywart Bambu IMSterling quaffswinegaily coffeeonthepatio Lunabeegood lena1987 onecelestialbeing CRMediaGal ausland Subversa
