The game between South Carolina and LSU, previously scheduled for Columbia, has been moved to Tiger Stadium because of the devastating flooding in South Carolina. All proceeds from ticket sales, etc., after costs, will be donated to the SC athletic department. Since the band cannot travel with the team, the LSU band will incorporate the SC Alma Mater and Fight Song into the pregame ceremony. I don't think there will be more than 45,000 or so fans in the stadium as so many of our fans travel from out-of-state to come to home games and many use away games as a chance to schedule other events such as weddings and vacations. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of South Carolina as they recover from this horrific flooding.
Who does your team play?

I'm a South Carolina fan. cadoodlebug I know LSU is showing us a great deal of kindness as they host the game...appreciate that...but I'm still afraid they will kill us on the field of play! Still a fan of my Gamecocks, but it's a trying season for so many reasons.

Still a fan of my Gamecocks, but it's a trying season for so many reasons. There is no love lost from this Gator fan for Steve Spurrier, but it makes my soul happy to see the response from how LSU is responding to the game. I know we all get caught up in the winning and losing of it all, but the very human kindness of it really nice to see. I love my football, and I love the SEC. We all may be big rivals, but it really is kind of a big sloppy, somewhat dysfunctional family.

Kudos to LSU for showing such kindness and respect to SC.
My Mountaineers play at home against Oklahoma State. They lost one of their best defensive players, Karl Joseph, to a season-ending knee injury he got in practice earlier this week. I think losing him will definitely have a negative impact on the team, although I hope they prove me wrong.

I'm finding it hard to get over the trampling from BAMA last week...we play Tennessee this week. Go Dawgs.

I've been out of town more often than not the past 2 months. Last weekend we were in Boise and most of my family went to the BSU vs. Hawaii game. They had a ball! I think I've seen a Boise State fan or two here on the boards in the past?
Tomorrow will be only the 2nd time this season I'll be home on game day. Penn State hosts Indiana at noon and we'll be there. Not expecting much out of our team, but I always have a little glimmer of hope.
GO LIONS!

It's Red River Rivalry in Dallas this weekend for the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns.
Texas is really down this year, but this is always the biggest game of the year for both teams, so you never know what will happen.
This weekend is always one of my favorite weekends of the year. The game is always played at the Cotton Bowl in the middle of the Texas State Fair. The tickets are split right down the middle between the two teams-half the stadium is orange and half is red.
The game is early this year (11am) which means corn dogs and beer for breakfast at the Texas State Fair.

It's Homecoming at Iowa this week! We host the Fighting Illini at 11:00am. Hoping the Hawkeyes can make it 6-0. DH and I are going to a Iowa Hawkeye viewing party tomorrow and we're bringing a pizza and a tray of sliced apples with a brick of cream cheese drizzled with caramel and topped with toffee bits (see how I was able to mention two of my favorite things in the world in the same post...football and food)

What? I haven't decided what to take to our friend's tailgate tomorrow. Can you link me up to this recipe?
ETA: So I decided to not be so lazy, and looked it up myself. Do you make yours like this?

I'm going to the Baylor-KU game in Lawrence on Saturday -- my first in-person Baylor game in four years! I'm really looking forward to it.

Not directly a Boise State fan, but definitely a fan of their former coach (Petersen) who took the Washington Huskies to an upset over USC last night!

HA! I was in Galena, IL with girlfriends and we had to find a bar that was showing the game. We did...."Gobbies" and we were surrounding by fellow Hawkeye fans with a few Wisconsin fans thrown in.....Illinois throws the ball A LOT, so Drew Ott can do his stuff and Desmond King will intercept.....I know, I know....hopeful thinking.

Michigan State is taking on Rutgers tomorrow night! Can't wait. We should win, but after last week's game with Purdue, who knows what will happen. We played so crappy in the second half, if we play like that it will be a hot mess.

We traveled to the Maryland v. Michigan game last week and had a great time! Except we lost 28-0! But we did get to see my husband's cousin play quarterback for Michigan at the end of the game. That was exciting!
We play Ohio St. this weekend, so we don't have a chance!

I will be watching my Huskers lose to Wisconsin. I am excited to see so many freshmen taking off their redshirts and getting into the game. We have a lot of injuries. I already saw a great deal of talent from 2 frosh last week. I am thinking our Pelini recruits, at least in our secondary, just aren't that talented. I have resigned myself that we are in a completely rebuilding year. We will have a lot of freshman and sophomores playing next year.

Heading to South Philly tomorrow for the Temple V. Tulane game. My Owls are still undefeated but they have pulled out a few ugly wins. It is fun to watch them doing so well for a change.

Our second upset of week 6 ~ the Texas Longhorns have defeated #10 Oklahoma 24-17. Big win for Texas since rumors were swirling about a possible firing of their coach.

cadoodlebug - I'm a Carolina fan and cannot thank LSU enough for your support and spirit in how you're handling the game change. What sportsmanship - true class! You are going to kill us, and because of how awesome you guys have been, I don't even care!! I'm going to be an LSU supporter going forward (Unless you're playing us!) Geaux both Gamecocks and Tigers!!
