I'm watching the GT/Clemson game right now, and GT looks like hot garbage. What a freaking train wreck. I still have about 3.5 hours 'till our kickoff. I HATE 8pm games...more so tonight as I have to get up at the ass crack of dawn in the morning to run a race.

Our second upset of week 6 ~ the Texas Longhorns have defeated #10 Oklahoma 24-17. Big win for Texas since rumors were swirling about a possible firing of their coach. Thank you for your kind words. Looks like we're trying to make you feel better by giving you a chance to win. Our biggest weakness is special teams and they drive me crazy. ETA: I realized after I wrote those words that it might look condescending. I wrote it right after your kick-off returner went all the way for a touchdown. It was sincerely meant as humor and a knock on our special teams, not on your team.

We just got home from the Penn State/Indiana game. Surprisingly we had a pretty nice win. Even better, the weather was perfect and we got lots of quality tailgating time in both before and after the game.

Couple of heart-breaking end-of-game losses to several teams ~ Nebraska lost to Wisconsin and Georgia lost to Tennessee. Valiant efforts on the part of all 4 teams.

I'm an OU fan. Please shoot me. That was totally embarrassing.

Did you see that poor child for Georgia get hurt? That one looks like it is going to be an awful, awful recovery. No love lost for Georgia (I am a Gator after all we don't like anybody ) but I sure hate to see that happen to one of our SEC brothers-or anyone really.

I feel so badly for our players. All 4 of our losses were last play of the game. We have lost 4 games by a combined 11 points. It has to go our way once!

Lucky you missed it. It was pretty ugly. Word is that he might have broken his leg.

Like Kymberlee said, it was ugly-enough so that most of the networks won't show the injury in the replay. The replays only show the angle where you can't see the specifics. I guess they are only calling it a 'leg injury' for now. you can read about it here

I only saw poor *child* and thought a fan got injured. I saw Chubb get injured and was very sorry to see that happen.

West Virginia at least made the game interesting, but Oklahoma State held on for an overtime victory. Good game, Cowboys!

It wasn't the prettiest of wins but I am a happy Gator this morning! (next week we go head to head with cadoodlebug's LSU and that may be a bit more than we have bit off so far...)

Hey - it's great to be a Florida Gator! Looks like the old days, doesn't it? Especially with the come-from-behind wins in the last seconds of the 4th.

I can't wait!! Neither can my LSU boy-this one is bragging rights for the year!

Well my Sooners lost to Texas and I'm sad about that. However, its a great rivalry and we had a fun weekend in Dallas.
A Texas fan sitting near me was at his 64th consecutive OU-Texas game!

I watched it and I couldn't even call my Cornhusker dad today (which is our Sunday ritual) to talk college football...specifically Iowa and Nebraska. Those type of losses are tough on everyone, players, coaches and fans. I'll give him a couple of days. I also watched that K-State/TCU game and I though K-State was going to pull out the win.......

I grew up in Athens (my dad taught at UGA for many years), then we moved to Florida. My son when to UF, so I'm a Gator fan and a UGA fan I'm thrilled with how UF is doing this year - I was very worried that Mizzou would be a spoiler for us last night, but it went our way again I'm definitely worried about next week (LSU gulp!). It was heartbreaking to see Nick Chubb get hurt on the first play - it sounds like he's out for the season, but hopefully he'll be able to rehab and come back. Such a talented player with so much ahead of him

Good heavens y'all...what in the world is going on with the SEC?? Will Grier: out. Steve Spurrier: out. That ought to shake things up this weekend. (While Steve Spurrier is dead to me, he still has a place in my heart so I really hope that he is okay-suddenly announcing his immediate retirement in the middle of a season is worrisome.)

I saw that he was "retiring" last night. Man, I hated that dude until I loved him. :-) One of my favorite SOS moments was a few years ago when he had to apologize to Jadaveon Clowney during a presser. It was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen and pure Spurrier. Google it...funny stuff. I honestly hate to see him go. He's always good for a smart ass comment. Grier will be out an entire calendar year, right? It sounds like this was his second drug test that he failed, and I am not sure what the rules are but there are rumors swirling that the Gators might have to forfeit all the games he has played in since the first drug test.
Oh, and you forgot about Sarkasian. That dude is a hot mess.

But I am not the most plugged in fan, so I will have to wait until all my friends who are Gator parents kid's start texting with the 'scoop.' ( ) I did see where they are planning on appealing? If not, we do know that he will sit out for one calendar year, which I guess means that he will come in as a red shirt sophomore.

I read that it was an over-the-counter medicine that is legal but you have to pass it by the trainer first. Don't know if that is true or not. I'm surprised Spurrier would quit or retire mid-season. And the mess with Sark is just ugly.
