What age kids would like these? There are different types on Amazon - which one is best? I noticed on Amazon that they might only come with Japanese instructions! Is that true? Thanks for any input! Mary K

I didn't even know they still made these. My DD had one when she was 11 or 12. She's 28 now. Sorry I'm not any help. I don't remember if the instructions were in Japanese or not.

I had to Google these to see what they were. My kids had something similar when they were around 9 - 10 years old. They played with them for a few months and then got tired of them. However back then you didn't have virtual friends.

Sorry to say, I think it's old technology that wouldn't be appealing to kids today. I'm sure there's an app for that! lol
I have a techy 10 yo who is always up on this kind of stuff and he hasn't mentioned them. My 24 yo DDs did have them when they were in elementary school. They played with them for a day and forgot about them. I remember because they were really hard to find and I was ticked we went to such effort back then to have them not be very interested.

Do you know already that the kid/s like tamagotchis? Like others have said these were popular years ago and are old technology. My DD had them around 2000 and I had to keep them alive while she was at school. If you're worried about the instructions being in Japanese I'm sure you can find all instructions for them online somewhere.
