I have been working on holiday gift items. Ornaments, keychains, tile crafts.
I thought about opening shop on etsy...but think my shop may get lost in all the others. Make sense?
I also thought about either creating a fb page and invite others or a fb group and invite others to join.
Bizaars, craft shows don't really appeal to me....
Thoughts?

You can link to your etsy shop with posts on your facebook page or link to it on your siggy here. You don't know how many people will actually join your facebook group, just post to your regular page.

Do you have an exceedingly large facebook network that you believe would be interested in your products? I have zero experience in doing this, so take my thoughts with a giant grain of salt. I wouldn't join someone else's facebook group or page to look at your business offerings, it is just not how I use facebook. I have shopped on etsy, and have even purchased some things from a family member's etsy store.

Selling on Etsy is pretty much a full-time job.. you have to promote your shop regularly, plus do all of the photographing, editing, uploading, listing, etc.
I didn't want to market to my FB friends so I started a FB page for my business, and promote it there.

Amazon is starting a new handmade segment. Just got an email about it this morning.

If you plan to keep selling, I would think Etsy as your main place. FB is good for connecting, but I don't have good luck on the garage sale or scrap selling sites - I find it's not good for searching or saving your place for later. Also, I am getting really tired of being "sold" stuff on FB lately...but that's just me!
The Amazon handmade offering is interesting...

I'm in a couple of groups that encourage linking your site on it to share your services ( as long as it goes with the topic the group is about ) Wix offers free websites. I think it's wix.com
I'm planning to create a fb page to share my creative expression and combine the page with my services to those who are interested. I'm not sure what I'm going to charge or exchange services for yet. I'm thinking of creating a website too to share my creative expression and services with a donation button.

If you are wanting to sell things in time for Christmas I would find your local buy/sell/trade FB and list things there. I think with it being mid-Oct already you will be cutting it close to get an Etsy shop open and selling well by the deadlines for Christmas shipping.
