So far I just have the "baby" supplies. A set of Liquitex Basics 24 colour tube paints. I wanted to just mess around with painting, you know? I seem to use my Dylusions sprays a lot more often than paint.

Patter- I just bought 3 of Diane Reavely's heavy body paints and I already know I'll love them..but where did you order yours from?
I bought mine at a scrapbook store in Knoxville Tn... progressive! What are you thinking of doing with yours?
I would like to get my gelli plate out again and work with them on that... I think they would work great on that?

I ordered them from scrapbook.com only because I had a coupon so I got them cheaper then I had found other places. They also had the most colors in stock. I will use them for all of my paper crafting--scrapbook pages, cards, art journaling, etc. I hope they come today because I want to play!

I love Golden brand anything, but I've had a bunch of fun with their fluid acrylics. I've used it on surface preps, plain canvas, plain paper, half and half and even sprayed things on top of them like water or rubbing alcohol for different effects. If you're looking for random fun, this is it, but if you want organized color, forget it.

I use my vast collection of craft paints and school watercolors (cheap tubes and the crayola pallete ones). I'd love to upgrade these someday, but not until I've used my stash. I also use my mist sprays, Lumiere paints, and Bombay India Ink.

Just bought three Dusty Attic paints and love the matte chalky effect. My favourite don`t want to use them `cos they might run out paints are heavy pigment Deco Art Traditions that I bought for Andy Skinner online classes. Biggest selection of colours are just ordinary Folk Art colours.

I'd love to try some of the paints you've all mentioned!
Right now I have a stash of distress paints, Matisse acrylics, and golden acrylics (I also do fine arts, so I have a pretty good stash lol)
For mixed media journals I find the distress paints used most often though.

I think the first thing I noted was the finish. They're more like an ink, that is, if you rub your hand over them, there is none of that obvious 'paint feel', you know, slightly raised surface and slight edges.
It's a matte finish, so if you want gloss, you can easily finish it with a gloss medium. I really love the matte finish
They have no pigment change when diluted, and 'keep' their color, similar to oil paints.
You can use them on a variety of surfaces, and also use them for different effects, much like the distress inks. I've used them on metal, canvas, paper and plastic.
I'm sure there's more I've forgotten. I haven't used them for awhile, we just moved a week ago interstate, so they've been packed. Though reading this thread had me inspired to do a little art journaling. They were the first thing I thought of dragging out.

Yes, that's what I need to tell myself. LOL!

I love golden paints, and I have started using Dina Wakely's paints as well (taking three classes with her this week, so I am sure I will learn much more about how they work). Craft paint just doesn't do it for me anymore, but a good middle of the road/better than craft but not really expensive paint is the liquitex basics line. You can often find them on sale at M's.

I have a few paints by Kaisercraft in a variety of colors. I'm relatively new to mixed media and just now learning of all the different paint variations.

I like Claudine Hellmuth Studio for the choice of colors and their transparent quality. Unfortunately they are no longer being made, but you may be able to get some at scrapbook.com. My favorite paints are Liquitex tube and jar. That is what I used in art school and I still love them! my blog: Artful Scrapbooking

I've seen Dina Wakley at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook section, but haven't tried them.

I have Claudine Helmuth's paints but will be looking to change to possibly the Liquitex tubes as needed. Today I used gouache for the first time. Very lovely to get a watercolour effect.
