I've run into that many times. It does nothing to instill confidence in my kids' teachers when I get an email that is full of errors. How about a high school teacher whose handwriting looks like a second grader wrote it? Seeing how I live with an engineer whose handwriting sucks at times, a 13 year old whose handwriting looks like he has not progressed from 2nd grade but makes straight A's, and another kid whose handwriting was better than most adults in 2nd grade but now is nearly as bad as his little brother's.... I can overlook the awful handwriting. I spend a lot of time "translating" handwriting here. It's spelling errors and grammar mistakes that make me cringe. They went to college for at least 4 years, maybe longer as several of these teachers have Master's. I assume in all that time, there were a couple hundred papers that needed to be well written. Why couldn't that skill be present in notes to parents, no matter how it's delivered? Why does the band director keep sending out reminders to pay the band fee that was due over a month ago but yet won't cash the check I gave them for the damn band fee?!? The treasurer claims he has gotten it. Then why in the f-k are you sitting on it?! Are you waiting for all of the fees to be paid? Why do I keep hearing how the band is strapped for money but yet my check has not cleared my account yet? I've also donated food, picked up food, delivered food, fed the kids, drove to several performances, paid gate fees, and ordered another pair of marching shoes. Meanwhile, the treasurer seems to be sitting on the band fees that have been paid. I'm glad I paid with a check but this is getting silly. The marching season is over at the end of the month. What the hell is this guy waiting for?

My vent - you have spent more than $40,000 in 8 months. All you have to show for it is a new car. Yes, you were left some money but that money has to last you until you die. At the rate you're going, you are going to blow through it in no less than 8 years. You may THINK you're not going to live very long but you're in pretty good health and you aren't that old so don't brush me off when I tell you that you have to PLAN for living longer than that. It's extremely stressful for your only child to see what you're doing and know what the fallout is going to be in 7 or 8 years when you have nothing left.

I showed a handwriting sample to a friend of mine and asked, "How old do you think the person who wrote this is?" She said, "I don't know, second grade maybe?" Nope, 45. And a teacher! Pretty much sums up my friend's response!

I will not live in an HOA. My neighborhood is self policing. We have an active neighborhood association. It's the best of both worlds without the legal authority of an HOA (that always seem to go on a power trip).

And....OH.MY.GOD. I HATE when someone waits until after another person leaves the room or catches you in another room to tell you something!!!! 1. Friend of boss comes into work to help with something, boss runs out for a bit and this friend proceeds to tell me that I am to stay hidden that he's in charge and that on another project we are all working on next week that I am to do XYZ (when boss and I are doing ABC--my part is the main piece of the project, friends piece is just fluff). He's done this before--worked hard at trying tonight me in my place, so to speak -that I am just an unimportant cog in the wheel, or that my "station in life" is that if a peon. I want to scream!!!! I would double check that with my boss, just to be certain of course, that this was the boss's directive. I did and of course the friend was asserting himself. I've watched him (friend) this week and have seen him totally steam roll and talk over my boss. He goes between boss and his spouse and plays on on the other! It's pretty entertaining (but not what it does to boss & spouse ). This guy just thinks what he says should go!

What the hell is this guy waiting for? Where does the band bank? What type of account is it? Some banks charge a fee if you go over x # of transactions per month, especially if they aren't 'in Lobby' transactions. Also if they give you a break because your a non profit there may be limits as well. We ran into this with our girlscout account and we switched banks because of it. Thought he certainly ought to be able to get it in within a month

I asked the treasurer to please double check that he does indeed have the check. His answer was that he got a new job so he had been out of state for a bit but he should get all of the money to the person who does the banking by the end of the week. I vaguely remember it being discussed that they wanted a new treasurer but no one has stepped up that has the accounting experience they want.

Thanks for telling me after I attended the meeting that I didn't actually have to go. Yes, that one hour meeting scheduled before my 12 hour overnight shift, meaning I lost at least 3 hours of precious sleep I needed to take care of 6 very sick patients.really appreciate the heads up.

I'm sick I have a sinus and an ear infection. My head hurts, my ear hurts, and I just want it to stop.
I actually went to the doctor today and he prescribed antibiotics and prednisone. And then I went to work.
I made sub plans and will be staying home tomorrow which is not what I want to do at all, but Friday is the home opener for our minor league team and I want to be better by then.

My vent is at the courier driver who must have delivered my parcel to the wrong address. It says delivery complete but it wasn't delivered to me. Grrrr
