Thrill the World on Oct 24 and need to zombie-ize myself! I'm pathetic when it comes to costuming and makeup. Need SIMPLE! Any ideas for me?
Learning the dance is challenging enough. Workin' on it!

The clothes should be easy. Just get something old and baggy from a thrift store that you can rip, wrinkle and stain (shoe polish works well).
I did zombie makeup one time that came out pretty nice. I started with a light layer of white makeup. Next I added dark gray circles around the eyes with a sponge, and some shadowy blotches on the face. The final touch was crumpled up tissue dipped in red and dabbed on to resemble scratches, then dipped in green to add a moldy look.
Anything you do will come out just fine!

I youtubed some videos on how to make us a horde of zombies last year. Very simple to do with toilet paper and Elmer's glue! Some make up and viola!

In addition to the suggestions above, you can do your hair so it is tangled and disheveled. Backcomb, tease, and use a mattefying powder and hair spray!

When ds decided to be a zombie I tried white makeup. It looked awful. So I mixed white w/ some green and it was still bad. So I wiped it off but while wiping it off, I realized the wiped-mostly-off was pretty good. So we did that plus some dark shadow under his eyes. He put a fake knife-through-the-head on his head and some bandages wrapped around with blood on them. We cut off the sleeves of a sweatshirt and the bottoms of sweats and he painted red splotches all over them. We put a little crack looking vinyl decal on his glasses. Here's a pic. eta: you can see the difference in color on his hands vs his face. He didn't want the makeup on his hands so I didn't put it there. Looks like we missed his ears too. lol. I also did some shadowing on his face to make it look all gaunt but it's hard to see on the pic. Attachments:

I have short, fine, thin hair and it would be scary indeed - a lot of my scalp would be showing. Not sure what to do with it... thinking about wrapping most of my head in thin layer of gauze bandage with "blood" in spots...

I'd probably spike my hair up as messily as possible and maybe colour it with something temporary... but I also like your idea of wrapping your head up.

My boys were zombies a couple of years ago. Walmart has a zombie makeup kit that has blood, face makeup and tattoos that are very realistic looking (rips in your skin) for like $5. We shredded some of their old clothes, drug them around in the dirt a little, then added the zombie blood. Messy hair is a must! Have fun!
