I am SOO bummed, I just bought it last aug. It's a Bissell steam fresh one. UGH. of course there is no warranty.
So I am hooked on the steam mops now, but leery on buying another one like this. So what have others had good luck with?
I think it was the motor. it will get warm, but it won't pump out the steam. I used distilled water and everything.

I'd call the company and see what they will do for you. You never know and it doesn't hurt to ask.
Are you sure that you need to use distilled water? I have a Haan and I just use regular tap water. Same thing with my iron. I guess they changed something to take the minerals out of the water. Although I don't see how the LACK of minerals could hurt things.

I have a Haan too and really like it. Well, as much as you can like a steam mop. I hate cleaning!

Our Bissell died a couple of months ago, too. Heated up, but nothing would get steam to come out. It was about 3 years old, though, so we just bit the bullet and bought a Shark instead. The only thing that really ticked me is that we'd just bought several new replacement pads for the Bissell, which of course don't fit anything else.

I use the Shark, and am on my second one. Bought it before the first one died b/c I knew it was on it's last legs. Plus it was around Thanksgiving so I found it on a Black Friday sale.

Google your problem and you may find out that it's a simple part that needs to be replaced. There have been so many times that something breaks and I'm ready to throw the thing away, but then hubby searches online, finds out what the problem is, orders the part, and fixes it. Good luck!!

My Shark died a year ago and I was so bummed. I've tried the Bissell & wasn't happy with the lack of steam. The new Sharks are a big improvement over the ones from just 4 years ago. They have GREAT steam, they are shaped so that they could get into smaller places, and you have the 3 options of steam. Love it!

I'm another Shark fan. I have one of the original ones and it's still going strong. If/when it dies, I'll definitely get another one because I love how clean my tile floors get with it. I bought a Norwex antibacterial tile mop head that I use with mine and it makes it that much more awesome. I'm thinking of getting a second Norwex mop head so I can always have a clean one in the cupboard when the other needs to get washed.

I've had my Bissell steam mop for years- the better part of ten years, I think. I got it on Freecycle, from a woman in my town who bought it, used it a couple of times and decided it wasn't for her. It was like new...manual, extra pads and everything. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I don't think I could manage without one anymore.

If you bought it this past August and used a credit card, check your credit card company policy. I dropped my new iPhone less than 90 days from purchasing it with my credit card, they replaced it. Some credit card companies extend warranties on your purchases.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it recommended it, plus I would never use our well water. I also read that most time steam mops break because of the use of the well water.

I have been thinking about the sharks. They are definitely cheaper then the Bissell and Hans.
I bought it in Aug of 2014, so no warranty.
I will try googling it, but my dh did look at it, and figures the motor is kaput. Like Paige said about her, it gets hot, but the steam won't come out, or motor start up.

I have bought steamers, but never just a steam mop but I would NEVER buy another Shark because they don't last long and my googling showed that the problems I had with the one I bought AND the one given to me are unfortunately, "normal" for a Shark. Oh, and the other problem is the rinky dink connections are so easy to break.
I haven't had it but a week, but I got a canister McCullough that will do a lot of things other than just mop. It seems to have a longer lifespan than the Sharks and from what I can tell, this one does more than the comparable Shark that I had and gets hotter. Since I'm allergic to so many chemicals, steam cleaning works best for me.

That is why I am so leery about buying a shark. I know they are cheaper, but you probably pay for it in the long run, BUT I paid a good amt for this Bissell and it only lasted a yr? ugh

I loved my Shark steam mop. After 3 years it stopped steaming. I bought a new one, and it stopped steaming in 1 year. I'm looking for a new brand.

It was about 3 years old, though, so we just bit the bicultural and bought a Shark instead.

My mom and I both had H2O steam mops. Mine dies this spring, her's just died. They were both 2-3 years old. Mine also would heat up and kind of spurt out the occasional bit of irregular steam.
