I have had stomach and digestive issues for a long time now. Everything from pains and cramps and gas to diarrhea to constipation… The worst for me is nausea. I cannot stand to me nauseated! I don't throw up… I just feel like I'm going to 24 hours a day.
Because of these issues, I go through weird phases where I will not eat anything except for certain foods. Last year I went through a phase where I wouldn't eat anything except Kraft easy Mac and green olives from a jar. It lasted over a month.
Well now, I cannot eat anything except for Stouffers frozen spaghetti and meatballs, pepperoni bagel bites, Tru Moo chocolate milk and Izzy Apple soda. The thought of anything else makes me completely nauseous . And these foods seem to ease my nausea. And there cannot be any substitutions… It cannot be spaghetti and meat sauce. It cannot be homemade… I tried that last week and it did not work! It has to be this cheap processed crap.
I guess it's better than eating nothing at all. And it does make my food bill very cheap! Except for the Izzy soda… That's expensive. It's almost like a pregnancy craving… Except I'm not pregnant. But I do wonder if it could be hormone related?
FTR, I am seeing a gastroenterologist about these issues. He thinks I'm crazy. Maybe I am. I have a colonoscopy and an endoscopy on Wednesday. Hopefully, we'll get some answers.
I've never been a picky eater and I've always been quite adventurous in what I'll try. So this is very frustrating to me…

I have Crohn's and go through periods exactly like that. I'm glad you're having a colonoscopy to get to the bottom of it. One thing that helped me tremendously with these symptoms was when my doctor put me on probiotics. I take Culturelle (it's over the counter) and it's done wonders. Couldn't hurt you a bit to try it.

I second the probiotics. They help me when I have bouts of colitis . I go through periods when I just want certain foods or when my stomach is upset, nothing but carbonated water. I hope your endoscopy gives you answers.

Can you take nutritional supplements so you are getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs? Just a tip to ask your body to just take in what nourishes you from the food you eat and get rid of the rest. I seem to process food better when I set this intention for myself.

I just want to ask if you've had your gall bladder checked. Constant nausea like that was my only symptom that my gall bladder was malfunctioning...I didn't have any pain. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I have been having a hard time eating breakfast as soon as I get up. I need an hour at least and no eggs whatsoever.

Have you had an ultrasound? Pelvic masses can cause symptoms similar to that.

I haven't had the certain cravings, but I have had stomach issues on and off for years and cannot pinpoint what triggers the problems. I've had medical tests done as well and everything was fine. It is frustrating! I just may try probiotics now!

I'll be curious to read what your doctor found or didn't find on the scopes. Are they checking motility? Though it doesn't sound like that, because you do get hungry for certain foods only. Good luck w/your scopes. GI diagnosis are sometimes are little tricky and I'm hoping they find the source of the problem when they do your scopes. Please do update us.

Sounds very similar to my symptoms! I began with a colonscopy in 2004 and it showed that I had diverticulosis. I changed my diet for years, to no avail. I began taking probiotics (the expensive, refrigerated kind), to no avail. Then I missed so many things in my diet, so I took it upon myself to test the waters and see if increased fiber would allow me to eat my beloved nuts, berries and seeds. It worked! However, I'm at the other end of the spectrum now (constipated). Weird! I've also been losing weight. I'll worry when/if I get below my set #.
Also, an endoscopy revealed that I had GERD and other issues. It all makes it tough to eat the right foods, so I limit what I eat. I feel better when I'm eating little meals.
Hope you feel better and I hope you get some answers. Still, research whatever your final diagnosis reveals! Doctors don't always know the answers, especially about some disorders/diseases.

Maybe you have food intolerance, i recently figured out that things in the latex family give me the worst stomach cramping. I used to be able to eat and enjoy banana, avocado and kiwi but no longer. One i figured that out i realized i could eat more things if i avoided these types of foods. Like you processed flood seems the most tolerable, I think because they've processed it so much they've killed the proteins i cannot tolerate. You could either try an elimination diet or get tested for food allergies and intolerance. I just figured it out because i knew bananas made me sick and an avocado gave me the same reaction so i googled it and reading others symptoms was like reading something i could have written. My dh gives me a hard time because he says i won't eat his healthy smoothies, well they make me feel like crap. I Googled this fruit be uses and sure enough it has natural latex. ..the cherimoya. Too bad because we have an entire tree full.

There are a lot of conditions that can have symptoms like this. scrapmaven has mentioned a motility test - this is a good idea. My daughter had similar symptoms to yours (apart from the food cravings) and she was diagnosed with gastroparesis following an endoscopy and gastric emptying test. Main symptoms for her were nausea all the time and stomach pain. She also was only eating small amounts. Good luck, nausea and the rest of it are the pits.

I've been having a weird situation where often times if I eat out, I get sick. DH and I enjoy going to sports bars like Buffalo Wild Wings or other places but the food just makes me need to run to the bathroom repeatedly. I think it's the oil since I don't eat much oil at home. It is some better if I get chicken and then veggie sticks.
It's happened at Souplantation too though as well as other places. It rarely happens at home.
