After spending a wonderful weekend with some friends at a Catholic women's conference, I came home to grab my husband up so we could head to the orchard. We needed apples! I was so pleasantly surprised to find they still had honey crisp (although expensive!). We then headed for the grocery store to grab a few essentials. When we came out, we immediate saw that someone had hit my car in the rear passenger side bumper.
I wanted to sit down in the parking lot and have a big 'ol temper tantrum. This is the *3rd* time in 10 months my car has been hit in the rear. The first time was just after Christmas last winter. I was at a stop light, attempting to turn right and waiting for traffic to clear. The older gentlemen in a Lincoln Navigator was behind me and thought I had moved on when I hadn't. He crushed the left turn light and area surrounding. It was $3K in damage/repairs.
This past July, I was driving in Baltimore City on my way to a client meeting when the woman behind me in a Honda Pilot just didn't see I was stopped in stop and go traffic. That was a $500 repair.
At least in each case, this was covered completely by the other insurance companies. This time, there was no witness and no one fessed up. Just hit and ran. I did ask the grocery store to check their security cameras but I'm not terribly hopeful of getting any real information that way.
So this time, it's going to cost me our $500 deductible and possible increased charges in premiums. And no rental car is likely, though I'm not sure about that. I'll find out when I call the insurance agent tomorrow.
Did I mention I haven't even owned the car 18 months yet? Why do people have to be so rude? Maybe I should call a wahhhhmbulance?
