A friend & I want to plan a girls trip about a week long (could be less but no more than a week) in mid Feb. She lives in central California, I live in southern Oregon. We would fly out of Sac. We really have no ideas about where we want to go. We do not want somewhere cold (like snowy); sunny and warm is perfect. We like to just hang out, shop, explore; nothing athletic LOL. Any suggestions? Budget for flights & room is pretty open, would like to keep that at under $1500 if possible. Suggestions?

Well you could do a 7 day cruise for that price. Or Maui. Or Phoenix.

Vegas cruise
Personally, I'd go to as many hockey games as I could with my friend.

Cruise! We cruise in Feb and love it. Rates are cheaper since it isn't 'prime' season and its nice to go somewhere new!

I'd go to South Beach in Miami, beach, shopping, lots of fun things to do. My girlfriends and I use to go to The Standard, a fabulous motel that has been converted to a spa hotel. The accommodations aren't huge, but it has a great pool, fun spa treatments, and is walking distance to Lincoln rd shopping and restaurants. www.standardhotels.com/miami/spa

Cruise is the first thing I thought of, too. Or the keys if you've never been. Or both!

Thanks for the ideas! My first thought was Maui, but the price seems higher than usual for Feb., we can go to Belize for the same price, so looking into that as well. Much rather go to Belize! Neither of us have ever been on a cruise, but the thought of being stuck on a ship unable to come and go when you want and with all the sickness that spreads on them scares me! What do those of you that have been on a cruise like about them? I will definetly look into South Beach, and the Keys (Florida Keys?) never been to either.

I'm not surprised Hawaii is expensive in Feb as that is prime winter getwaway time. Belize sounds perfect, or Costa Rica. If you want to stay in the US, the Florida Keys or Gulf Coast, New Orleans, Savannah and/or Charleston. My first choice would be Sedona and surrounding area, including a day trip to the Grand Canyon.

Cruise benefits: ALL INCLUSIVE. All meals etc. are included. Sitting in the deck in the sun with a strawberry daiquiri is just the best. There is a lot to do on the ship! And you do go places...fun ports (St Maarten, Bahamas). It's a great way to explore.
