Whipping Cream and Maple Syrup: my daughter attended a summer camp at a "farm" in the city. The mama bunny was Waffles. She had 5 babies. The kids got to name them. The white & black one was blackberry. The three orange ones were caramel, cinnamon, and maple syrup, the white one whipping cream. At the end of summer the "farm" was just going to turn them lose. They never would have survived. I wanted maple, agreed to take maple, but when we went to pick her up, whipping cream was the only other one left. We took both.

I've had little dogs. A terrier mix named Terry A terroir mix named Jeff A yorkie poodle mix named Kirby A toy poodle named Killer ( I chose the breed, DH chose the name ) A yorkie named Lenny (DH named him after Leonard Cohen) A havanese named Stella I guess I give my dogs people names for some reason Growing up we got a dog that was half poodle half something. Cute little thing. The boys named him "Wolf". Loved calling him when new people were over because they would get so surprised when a big wolf like thing didn't come out.

We have three cats, two torties and a fat red one. They are called Lucy, Tess and Fat Red One ('Fat-Red').
Lucy is the mom of the other two. There were 4 kittens; two went to live somewhere else. One of those was a skinny little red boy. The other one was also ginger, but way more fluffy and round. When we talked about the kittens, someone would always ask, 'which red kitten? the skinny or the fat red one?'. Fat-Red then stuck with him, even when we found a new home for his brother.

We have a huge Chow/Golden Retriever cross ... at least that's what we think she is ... her mum was from a nearby native reserve ... Her name is Lucy aka Lucille or Lucifer Our two cats are Ella Enchanted aka Bad Kitty and Babette aka Baby ... Baby should actually be called Bad Kitty because she gets into way more trouble Would that make her Metis? We had sister cats Bella and Ava, Ava is gone already. Our younger kitty is orange so we called him Milo (like the kitty in Milo & Otis) When we get a dog I already know I want to call him/her Jasper - from one our favourite places Jasper National Park.

we have Riley the shih tzu and Ripley the cat inside. Ripley looks like a blue point siamese, but the others in the litter were solid gray. I had gone to the vets office to get dog flea meds and the one lady there kept trying to talk me into this teeny tiny kitten, she was holding it as she was answering the phone and such behind the desk. then she handed her to me to help another customer and well..sigh. she knew if she could get me to hold her Id bring her home.. *shaking head* I now refuse to hold anything when I go in LOL.. its pretty unbelieveable I brought home a kitten as Im pretty much a dog person, so we named her Ripley. We also have Rosie outside who is a mix that was dumped out on the side of the road here, we live on a dairy and it happens---people just think "oh its farm we'll dump her here"..sigh.. she's a terrier/ cocker spaniel/ we dont even know mix, but has the super wire-y terrier coat and is such a love will do anything for a belly rub. And currently we have a farm cat hanging here at our house that is jet black except for a small spot on her belly--we only assume this cat is a girl, we aren't really sure and anyone who thinks they can figure it out also remains unsure.. her name is Toothless from the Night Fury on How to Train Your Dragon movie, because she is sooo super jet black and has these yellow/green eyes.. and yes she has teeth too, but also is a love.

Our dog is named Chewbacca. When he was a puppy he looked like him. He is Chihuahua and shih Tzu. We call him Chewy most of the time.
His litter was fostered and he was the only brown/black on in the bunch.

We have 5 right now.
Mickey (Pit Bull) went unnamed for weeks until my stepdad was over chasing a mouse that ran out of the woodpile. He was peeking around furniture saying "Here Mickey Mickey Mickey" and the puppy was SO excited. It stuck.
Roscoe P Coltrane Guh Guh Guh (blue heeler) lives here now but was named by my brother. We were watching The Dukes of Hazzard and every time Roscoe came on he was all wiggly butted. When we call him it's something like RoscOOOOEEEEE PEEEEE Coltrayne GUH GUH GUH because he barks back 3 times and it's either funny or we're easily amused.
Puppy (pomeranian) HIs name is really Biggie Smalls but he's just so snuggly and sweet that we always picked him up and cuddled him and somehow "Aww, my little puppy baby you're just so sweet" falls out of my face everytime I pick him up to rock him to sleep so Puppy stuck. My cousin down the street and her son call him Big and my mom calls him Baby, he's just happy to be getting picked up and loved on instead of stepped on by Zeus.
Zeus ( Great Dane/ Mastiff mix). He's only been hanging around for a couple of weeks and im not sure how he got his name. I'm guessing based on size. I'm not sure what we would've named him if it was up to us. I've caught myself lately calling him Zeussey Caboosey. Strange. He likes my crazy.
Sir Beardimus McWaffles the Third (Bearded Dragon) It's a mouthful, we usually just call him Darnell. I imagine this is the first time i've thought about it but I have no idea how we got Darnell from his name or why we call him that. I wonder if the kids know.
