I just spent 2-1/2 hours rolling out dough and making 4 dozen Apple turnovers for my freezer. My hunters will be home for dinner tonight but I don't feel like fussing. I'm going to make meatloaf, pierogies (of the frozen variety) and sautéed broccoli and cauliflower. What are you having?

I'm hosting Book Club tonight for my ladies meetup group that I run ... we will be having a variety of appetizers, desserts and the all important wine My contributions are bruschetta and baguette and a shrimp ring ... oh, and wine I have absolutely no idea what the rest of my family will eat ... they can fend for themselves or graze on Book Club food

I'm trying this: smothered pork chops Planned sides are rice and asparagus. We'll see if I'm successful or not. ETA - it was a hit with the guys. The sauce should've been thicker but they didn't seem to care much. It's being added to the list of dinners to make.

No school today for my 14 y/o and my mama is here, too. So I made pancakes & bacon for a late breakfast/brunch.
Tonight the four of us are going to dinner with my husband's aunt & uncle and their son.

arggh! You mean I have to come up with dinner again?!
Yesterday I ended up picking up a frozen pizza when I went to the supermarket instead of gazing adoringly at my child for yet another hour of Tae Kwon Do. (Yeah, yeah, I know he's not really "my" child. Sometimes it feels like it.) He liked the pizza but the real hit was the salad I made to go with it, because my niece had left some ranch dressing here and I used that. Who knew?
So there's still some leftover chicken in my fridge. Also bacon. Also cheese. Also ranch dressing. Also refrigerator biscuits. hmm ...

I'm attending a 5-year-old's birthday party right after work. He's my cousin's grandson. I haven't been to a kid birthday party in years, so I'm secretly excited to go! Doubtful they will have anything gluten free, so my mom and I will eat afterwards. She's been hinting at pizza.

arggh! You mean I have to come up with dinner again?! Ha! That was me last night and probably explains why we resorted to egg salad sandwiches.

Late baseball practice night, last night I made Alton Brown's Chicken Enchilada Lasagna (which according to the directions should have taken 30 mins to prepare, yeah right). My plan is to call dh when I leave the field and have him put dinner in the oven so hopefully it will be hot and ready to serve by the time we get home. Veggies are still to be decided, but it might just be a bowl of salad.

Oven-baked tilapia, baby carrots, and a side of broccoli and shells in homemade cheese sauce.

Lamb stew....impulsively I added a huge splash of old red wine so I hope it turns out okay.
I've never made stew before. What does your family eat with stew? Assuming you did add potatoes and carrots.

Well, today is my birthday and Friday so there is no way that I am cooking!!!
My husband has been on a few hushed phone calls today so either he is having an affair or setting something up for my birthday dinner!

arggh! You mean I have to come up with dinner again?! I was thinking the same thing! There are some days that I get irrationally angry that I have to make dinner. AGAIN! grrrr (Yes, I do realize that it's ridiculous that to feel that way. Please note the word "irrationally" in that sentence. ) So......we are having leftovers. I know there is some of the scalloped potato dish left, but I'm not sure what else I'm going to be able to find to put on the table. If all else fails, there are cookies for dessert.

I've never made stew before. What does your family eat with stew? Assuming you did add potatoes and carrots. I'd do cornbread for sure. To me, stew is an all-in-one dish and doesn't require anything else, but if you do want to add something, maybe green beans? Or there's always the fallback option of a side salad. Something cool like a cucumber salad to offset the hot dish might be nice. Well, today is my birthday and Friday so there is no way that I am cooking!!! Happy birthday!

lucyg I feel the same way sometimes about cooking dinner sometimes... Today being one of those days!
We have some bananas to use up so I think I might end making banana pancakes. Scrambled eggs or bacon to with them. I'd just put the bananas in the freezer, but we already have a bajillion in there already haha.

It's chilly here, and I m warming up leftover minestrone. DH has promised either cookies or cupcakes for dessert. Olan, I usually have rolls or biscuits with stew. Lamb stew sounds great!

We had "ice cream Friday" today at work at 2pm, so I'm not hungry, ds is starving as always, and dh had no opinion, so it's pizza, salad, and breadsticks for us tonight and then leftover after DS' final ever fall baseball game tomorrow!

It is the top rated recipe on the entire site, and it is rating is well deserved.

Ranch dressing is like a magic elixir to get kids to eat anything! I haven't decided for sure, but it's looking like fried rice for dinner. I have leftover brown basmati rice and tons of veggies. No leftover chicken but that's ok. I will make either biscuits or garlic bread to go with.

I found a carton of leftover rice in the freezer and the 6yo loves it, so that's what I'm going to do.

I am feeling really lazy tonight so we are having TJ's Pulled Chicken Breast and Pulled Beef Brisket (yes, you get a choice because 1 container doesn't feed us all) on challah buns and a plate of assorted vegetables (peppers, carrots, cucumber . . . whatever is in the fridge and can be eaten raw(.
