My DH has an old camper, a 1967 canned ham type, that he bought a few years ago to fix up. The only thing he did was fix the leaky roof. We are planning on moving in the spring and want the camper gone asap. We have it listed on Craigslist. We have had several text messages about it and two different people want to look at it this weekend.
Are we wrong in letting the second person come look at it? The first person said they would like to look at this weekend, no definite day, and the second person said they would be here after 12pm tomorrow. Does the first person with the cash get it? I don't want to offend anyone. Ugh!! What is the best way to go about it?

First one to show up with the cash gets it.

Too many people are flakes- first person with cash gets it or you will never get rid of it. I usually tell people that it's first come, first serve.

First to come has the first chance to get it. I have had too many flakes on craigslist and had to say, sorry, it was gone earlier today.
You can always text back and said, fyi, someone else is coming to look at it at noon.

First person with cash is the usual guideline in most groups around here.
I'd take the money and run.

First one to show up with the cash gets it. I was giving something away on Craigslist. The first person was flakey as heck and the back and forth emails were a headache. The second email guy came right over and picked it up.

Thanks!! That is what I was hoping to hear! We really want it gone out of our driveway. Hopefully someone will want it.

Unless someone has set up a definite time to come view an item, then I consider it still available and if someone else wants to make an appointment to come see it, it is fair to arrange that.
I don't believe in an automatic 'first person to come with cash gets it, regardless'.
I do think it is in bad form to make a firm appointment with someone to come view/purchase an item , and then sell it to someone else before that just because they can come that morning, as opposed to that afternoon. There are a lot of dealers who have time on their hands and can access listings as soon as they come up and pick up asap.
I won't sell something to someone just because they can be there faster, if I have already agreed with someone else on a day/time to view/pick up.
In this case, since there has been no firm appointment made with the first person, I think it is fine to set one up with the second person. If the first person had said, 'I can come Sunday at 11 am' and I had agreed to that, I would not personally allow someone else to come Saturday afternoon and purchase it. I would tell the second person that someone was coming Sunday, but if they didn't take it, I would get back to them.
If someone really wants something and intends to buy it, I figure an extra day won't make a difference. If it does and they buy something else in the meantime, so be it. I'm not going to go back on my word with the first person.
