Got an email yesterday saying SP is closing its last store in Calgary. It makes me sad as it was a decent store that was great to shop in and see the latest and greatest up close and personal.
In the email she said it had to do with the declining number of ppl printing photos which btw I don't buy. Scrapbookers print photos, I think though that sb don't buy as much because they have a lot of stuff (although I didn't get that memo lol).
There is still the Scrap Yard in Calgary but I never seem to find anything there I like or lately anything new.
I guess I will have to buy all my stuff online now or travel farther to go to the stores in Edmonton to buy stuff in person. We had a lss here in our small town but it closed several yrs ago. I think for the most part LSS are a thing of the past at least in around here ugh.

WOW, that is too bad, they've been in business for a long time.
Is Scrap Shotz still around? I think that is the name.

That's sad. This could be partially true as a lot of people have now gone souly digital.

Sad to hear this. I don't have any at all where I live which is a bummer since all I'm left with is the big box stores.

I got this email too! I'm getting nervous for my shopping options in Canada.

It makes me sad. I used to love Scrapbooker's Paradise! In the old days, whenever we were visiting Calgary, my dh would sit in the car with the kids and give me an hour to wander around in the store and shop. Oh how I loved to touch all the papers and stickers! Eventually, we got an LSS in our town and I started online shopping so going there wasn't a priority anymore. But, I have lots of fond memories of that place.

I had a membership to their kit club until recently. They have great customer service!

SP was the first store I ever ordered from, probably 15 years ago. Sad to hear it is closing.
On the flip side, I've been a loyal Scrapshotz buyer for years - lots of product and great service.

It's starting to get really scary about how many stores in Canada are closing…….we've had several in Ottawa close over the years.

Its sad how many are closing right now. I knew it was coming a few months ago when they closed the warehouse...it was just when it would happen. I learned to scrapbook there, I used to work there and I met a ton of amazing friends there. Its sad that they are closing. I don't have a store in town, but there is one in Medicine Hat which is only about 1.5 hrs from me.
