...which one would you get? Hubby said I could continue my Stampin Up paper pumpkin subscription, but he said that those kits look a little small. Is there another kit that is more bang for your buck? I like scrapbooking, stamping, embellishing, etc.

SU kits are small for what you get in them. I am thinking of canceling my Stampin Up subscription. I wish they would tailor the boxes to the time of year. For October we got flowers - I thought leaves or fall themed would be more appropriate.
I like Simon Says Stamp kits. They are little more pricey with shipping and all but I feel like you get more for the cost.

Look at you starting a thread! I am going to be watching this one! The only thing good about me not subscribing to a kit right now is that I'm using my scrappy budget to buy new running clothes!

I currently have scrapbook kit subs to Citrus Twist kits and Scrapbook Circle and recommend them both. More than the price you're currently paying, but a great amount of product.
I haven't subbed to Simon Says Stamp's kit but have also heard good things about it in the past.
Stampin Up products do tend to be more expensive, so I think you can probably fin some options which give you more product for a similar price.

Someone mentioned the Creative Retreats Embellishment Kit in another thread, and it caught my eye. I ordered a single kit to see if I like it, but it hasn't arrived yet. They're $20/mo.

Paper Issues has a Swag Bag for $10/month. Studio 29 also does a $10/month kit. Take Ten KitI've never subbed to either of them but it looks like you get a little bit of this and that.

I love the Paper Issues swag bags! She does "themed" ones in addition to monthly kits occasionally. They started as a way to let scrappers try out bits and pieces from lines without having to buy the whole package or lines.
Are there many kits available in that price range? The ones I've been eying right now are cocoa daisy and hip kit but I know they are more than $20

Freckled Fawn has kits for $22 (plus shipping) if you like embellishments.
Simon Says Stamp is $24.95 and includes a stamp set, several sheets of card stock, half of a 6x6 patterned paper pad and several other things that vary by month (ink pad, flair buttons, package of die cuts, etc.). Amd as a subscriber, you can skip a month if you don't like the kit. No commitments either.

Okay, I shouldn't have looked ... About the prices, are they cheaper with a sub or was that a sale? They've got the kits listed (a sub starting in Nov) as being $24.99 plus $2-10 shipping. For $20, it'd definitely be worth it. Not that I need more embellies, but I do love the neutrals with just a pop of colour.

You had the choice of a one-time purchase for 24.99 (+$2 shipping for me), or if you subscribe it's 19.99 (+shipping). I think they keep sending you the kit each month unless you cancel. That choice popped up when you actually put a kit into your cart.

I don't subscribe, but I buy the Simon Says Stamp kits (for $29.95, the sub price is $24.95). I know I should subscribe, but I just like to preview before purchaasing and I'm afraid I won't cancel in time, so I pay the extra $5.

Thanks for posting this question! I'm looking for an embellishment only kit so I am debating between Creative Retreats Embellishment and Freckled Fawn. I think the former may be more my style.

Not a problem. I didn't even know about Creatice Retreats and it is totally cute. I wouldn't know if I didn't ask

I don't sub but buy occasional Freckled Fawn kits. They've got nice product, just don't think I can use a kit up each month.

The only kit that I used to subscribe to was Simon Says Stamp. I loved them because you get a lot for the cost of the kit AND the fact that as a subscriber you get to decide before the kit is sent whether or not you want it that month. If you don't think it's for you, you just send them an email saying "No thanks, not this month" so you're not obligated to pay for and receive something you know you'll never use! Just as an aside, it is really geared more for card makers, although you can definitely use the products in your scrapbooking projects. I'd love to resubscribe to that kit, but I'm in Canada and paying an additional 30% for US products right now is just too much! Hopefully again one day though!

If you'd like a card or layout club, check out embellishkits.com. It's a "monthly" club and their prices are $20 for each kit, but they ship them two months at a time to save shipping costs. They also sell their kits at embellishonline.com.
