I like Tonic Studios - I have two, a rotary trimmer (unfortunately discontinued) and a small guillotine. Don't know what I'm going to do when I can't get blades for the rotary trimmer anymore, so I'll be interested to see what other recommendations are.

That's the one I have settled on. I know it's not straight (in that I have to line up certain lines, can't use the top/bottom for square edges) but it cuts straight and I like the wire for knowing where the cut will be. But it fits my space. A lot of recommended cutters are big/bulky and require a dedicated spot in a scraproom.
I have a fiskars 8" guillotine for smaller cuts.

The best paper trimmer I ever had was a Carl rotary trimmer; pretty sure I ordered it from HSN years and years ago. It never dulled. Unfortunately, that thing got lost in our move years ago, and I've just gone with the Fiskars linked above (which I hated and never cut straight), and I now use the Stampin Up trimmer.

i have a big old guillotine cutter that i picked up at a yard sale (it is huge and heavy); it is a beast but it cuts beautifully every time.

My best trimmer is/was a Making Memories Precision trimmer. But in a moment of confusion, I cut two sheets of thick presentation paper then stacked them and tried to cut again. I ruined the darn thing. [so sad]
I've done lots of research and I'll be purchasing the Fiskars Procision Trimmer soon.

I have 3 that I use regularly — an old Fiskars with the orange blade, a Creative Memories small guillotine, and a CM rotary with interchangeable decorative edge blades. I like them each for different purposes. The nice thing about the Fiskars compared to the others is that you can start and stop at a precise spot.
I had a chance to check out the Cutterpillar at the Expo. It has a light underneath the cutting edge, and is supposedly self-sharpening. It can cut superfine strips and looks extremely accurate. The newest one has a swing-out arm, so it's more portable. I haven't looked at any reviews, but it seems like a good one, although pricey. I would consider it if I wanted another trimmer, and if I could handle looking at that bright green all the time.

I use a Fiskars trimmer that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I've had it for a few years now. I can't imagine that it would need to be replaced unless my 2 year old gets a hold of it! I just replace the blades as needed.

I know cutter pillar has a bad rap for the recent Kickstarter problems, but it is the only trimmer I have ever used besides the Genesis that cuts straight.

I used a lot of cheapies before taking the leap and buying the SU one. I would recommend it.

I have purchased them all! When I did my purge earlier this year I got rid of 12 trimmers - SU, Carl, Cutterpillar, Tonic and more. The only one that I have found that cuts straight consistently is the Fiskars Procision.

I"ll be watching this thread. I just recently started scrapping again and when I pulled out my MM trimmer the plastic holder piece that holds the paper down snapped off! I am super bummed! It still looks brand new but it just does not work without that piece!

I have a Genesis. Best investment I've ever made. But I did have a Carl prior to the Genesis, that was a very good trimmer. I just couldn't get replacement blades for it so decided to get one that I could. Funny though, it's self sharpening and I still haven't had to replace the blade since I bought it over 10 years ago.

I would suggest you buy replacement parts at the same time as when you buy it since SU products can't be easily bought, and have to be ordered through a consultant. I do think replacement blades could probably be bought off of eBay though. If I were looking for a bigger, heavier duty trimmer I'd definitely look at a Carl trimmer again. When I had mine I was a Stampin' Up demo and that trimmer took a beating from me, with all the cardstock I had to cut. I'm pretty sure I didn't pay all that much for it, and it never failed me.

Okay, so I have been a trimmer addict. I have had several Fiskars, a Carl, Making Memories, Tonic, etc. My favorites have been the Cutterpillar. I have the Pro and the Crop. They are both awesome!

I currently have two Fiskars trimmers - the one originally posted and the Procision. I hated the Procision trimmer when I first got it, but it is the one that sits on my desk and it's the one that gets used most often. I haul out the other one when I need to make a cut on a smaller piece of paper because for some reason I can't get the Procision and my hands to work with smaller pieces! While I can't say that I love either one, they both do the job for me right now. BUT when the times comes that I need a new trimmer, I would get another of either. Probably doesn't help you much...

I really like my Martha Stewart trimmer. I have had a few expensive ones, but this one is straight each time.

I have the one that the OP linked. That's my go to trimmer because it's easy to grab and use. I have the procession trimmer as well. I love how clean it cuts. It's just bigger and takes more space on my desk. I don't leave it it out so when I want to use it I have to dig it out of the closet. My kids have my old gray Fiskars that takes the orange blades.

I have tried a bunch. While I use the Fiskars most of the time because it's more portable, the most precise (and it can cut thin, thin shaving cleanly) is my Tonic guillotine trimmer. Mine is a smaller one. I wish I had their bigger one. Someday I'll get it, even though it isn't portable. They're expensive, but worth the price.

I have one down from the OP which I use if I am scrapping or cutting something upstairs. I have a Genesis and it is wonderful, but it stays downstairs on the scrap desk. It is presently holding a silver tea service that is in need of polishing. There is a lot of junk on the scrap table right now that needs to be sorted and done something with.
But I have a Genesis and it is great.
There is one for sale in the for sale board and it's a good deal!

I have an American crafts one and it is okay, but I just don't love it as much as my old one.

I've owned a full size Tonic Guillotine for over a dozen years and it's still going strong. I love it! It's too bad they don't make them anymore as I would highly recommend it. I also use a SU trimmer. I like it for many reasons but it's not always accurate for me. If I had the money I would buy a Cutterpillar. I've been eyeing them on Joann's because sometimes they are half off. Maybe one day...

I'm another fan of the Tonic guillotine. I have the full size on my desk and the portable (discontinued) in my travel crate.

I used to use only Fiskars trimmers too but I got so sick and tired of buying replacement blades. then I discovered the Making Memories trimmer with the self sharpening blade. it was sturdy and yet it folds in half so it doesn't eat up a lot of room on your desk. I loved it so much I ditched all of my Fiskars and bought 3 of the MM just to have them at home and the office. they don't make them anymore but it doesn't matter because they cut as sharp today as they did when I first got them. when Fiskars came out with a self sharpening trimmer, I thought I'd give it a try. it was so bulky and cumbersome that I returned it and went back to my MM trimmers.

My favorite was the fiskars triple track but I replaced it with the one with the wire. I like that one but I go through blades like water. So I recently invested in the Stampin' Up trimmer. i like it alot but I still go through blades and I have to order them from Stampin Up reps now.
I see myself returning to fiskars.

I have a tonic 12" and 6" guillotine and a cutter pillar. While good, they both had drawbacks. Before my last crop I bought the Fiskars Procision because I was making 12 little mini books and I didn't want to cut all that chipboard by hand and this thing is supposed to cut everything.
OMG! I am in love. Cut that chipboard like a dream....cuts paper great too. I love that there's a solid line at each 1/4" mark so it really helps line things up. Cuts super-tiny slivers. I also love that it folds in half and you can use it folded up. It was pricey, but I found it online at Walmart.com for about 40% off so on par with HL.
