I have a love/hate relationship with my trimmers. I have two of the same Fiskars trimmers that OP has because they're convenient to bring to crops. I agree they don't always seem to cut straight. I hate having to buy blades because they seem to wear out more frequently than other paper trimmers I've owned. I still have my original CM paper trimmer that just keeps on cutting!

I am loving the Cutterpillar Crop. I bought it via the kickstarted campaign (no complaints from me on how that was handled). Love the light and how accurate it is. No more crooked cuts!

Wow, I didn't know that cutterpillar had made a portable version! If it weren't $120 after exchange, I'd snap one up! I could ask for one for christmas, but my camera lens broke and I *really* need a new lens first!

I got the Fiskars Procision yesterday! So far I love it. It's pretty heavy duty.
But two things are different from my beloved MM trimmer. 1. It's big and I had to rearrange my desk a bit. and 2. It takes a bit of more push to get the blade housing to move, but it's not difficult.
The Yay! factor is that it cuts with no frayed or "puffy" edges and the 1/4" markings go the full length of the paper tray. IMO, that in itself is reason to buy it.

For anyone that is looking, I saw the cutterpillar one at Hobby Lobby a few days ago.
I don't know if it was the Crop or the Pro, but I think it was 79 or 89 dollars, not so sure because I wasn't looking to buy. I just picked it up to see how heavy it might be. Not heavy at all.

Yes, if I didn't have the Pro from a couple of years ago, truly the Crop would be all I need. Love that thing! I really hope I had a lemon Pro. I donated it a couple months ago because I could never get it to cut straight and I had spent so much on it that it made me mad every time I looked at it. I did order the new one from the kickstarter campaign. I got it, but I don't think I have used it. I have one I bought at costco that I use at the moment. It works fine.

I have a Cutterpillar Pro gathering dust because I need the finger guard thing for my own protection, but I love the way it cuts and the lights really help. My go-to trimmer is the Fiskars Proscision (sp?) and as there are a few fans on this thread I have a question: how do you clean the rotary blade?
Paper fuzz and dust accumulate on the circular blade itself; With my old beloved MM, they had a pop-out piece which enabled you to remove the track the carriage ran along. You could upend the blade housing and clean it up. With the Fiskars I am restricted to running the blade along a bit at a time and trying to brush bits off the circular blade as I go. This is not easy and not very effective. Any ideas, Peas? TIA!

So y'all that love the procision, how did you handle it folding in half at the 6 inch mark? Didy ou just measure and mark where 6 inches is? Also I do a lot of 1/4 and 1/2 inch cuts, can it handle that? I have been debating between this and the cutterpillar but since I can get this one with a coupon and no shipping vs shipping for the cutterpillar I am curious. I also like that it folds for less of a footprint.

I really used to love my MM cutter but I found I couldn't get thin cuts and some of the lines were wearing off. I switched to a fiskars one with the wire guide but that thing frayed and I had to remove it. Still using that thing but I'm finding that I'm getting some crooked cuts. I might have to dig out my MM one again.

I absolutely love my Cutterpillar Pro. I have a box of all of the other trimmers that I have ever bought just sitting there collecting dust. Once I receive the Cutterpillar Crop for Christmas, I will be disposing of the old ones.

I'm still using my trusty old MM trimmer, but it no longer cuts 12" lengths completely straight. I would love a new one, but I'm going to wait until I've moved house and built my new bedroom/craft room so that I know how big my desk will be!
