Revisiting the Jacob Wetterling case...new details.

Wow! I'm from MN, a small town about 2 or so hours from where it happened. I remember following it in the news when it happened. We lived on a farm 2 miles out of town, and I used to ride bike to town all the time, but after the abduction, I wasn't allowed to anymore.

I hope the family finally has some closure.

If he did it, I hope he confesses soon, for the family's sake. It must be a bittersweet day for them.

I remember this story and in particular his brother, and how devastated he was. that poor family, I hope they get answers and are able to bring their son home

Patty Wetterling and a sheriff from Crow Wing County visited my school quite a few years ago and talked to our fifth graders about what they can do to protect themselves. They were incredible. You could have heard a pin drop in that room. So many years without answers. I hope they get them.

I hope the family is able to finally get some closure. Not knowing what happened to your child has to be hell.

I am praying that they will find the evidence they need to solve this case. The Wetterlings and everyone who has been involved in this case deserve answers.

I was a senior at St. Cloud State (a few miles away) that year, and all classes would go silent when the helicopters flew over. It was absolutely heartbreaking every time they made another round because you knew it meant they hadn't found him. It changed my life because I realized evil can happen anywhere. I always knew it was an awful crime, but after I became a mother, I understood just how horrifying it had to have been to have your 11-year-old boy taken from you.



My aunt and uncle own BoDiddley's. Maybe you have heard of it?

I currently live only a few miles away from where he was abducted (I loved a couple hours away when he was abducted). With young boys, he's never very far from my mind.

Yes!  Oh my gosh.  We were just there in August for my DD to visit CSB.  We drove through town just to see if BoDiddley's was still open.  It was!  Unfortunately (but very kind) we met with an admission counselor at St John's and were treated to lunch there.  So we didn't get to eat at your restaurant.  But I have fond memories of it from my college years.  I didn't have a lot of spending money, so it was a big treat to go and get a sandwich from there.  I remember a toasty warm sandwich with pastrami or corned beef that was my favorite.

For whatever reason, there were a lot of Ps that came over to NSBR from the Scrapping side of the forum.  I know there was a MN LSS owner who was active on the Ps years ago.  Maybe that's the tie?  I grew up west of Minneapolis and went to the College of St Benedict, but found TwoPs when I was trying to find gears for my Revolution that had just broken and had just been discontinued.  

Unless they can find some actual physical evidence, it doesn't look good.  And it really could have been anyone.  St Joseph is only a few blocks off I=94 and there aren't a lot of towns near the interstate in that area.  If someone pulled off for gas and got restless, he would have been back on the interstate in minutes.  

It gives me goosebumps just thinking how close it is to the anniversary of that day (was this week as well) hard to believe 26 yrs have gone by. was 10 when it happened and remember it clearly.

I'm a Central MN pea, too.  Like bbkeef, I was 17 the year Jacob was abducted.  I really hope they can get some answers.  I can't imagine what it is like not knowing.

I think they have more information that ties him to Jacob than they announced yesterday. I also think that they'll make a deal with him on the porn case if he tells the Wetterlings were Jacob's body is. But I don't think he'll ever out and out admit to taking him.
