I did not know this thread and search existed. FYI, the links in the first post are now dead, but I was able to use the Wayback machine to pull them up, so they should be updated. I also found this other article from the 70s: www.davidcassidy.com/fansite/InPrintPages/Mag1972Jan_TeenPin-Ups_06.pdf which mentions a couple of theater performances in the San Diego area. Searching that website for other mentions of David Holmes, brought up several other things, including this www.davidcassidy.com/fansite/InPrintPages/Mag1974Mar_Flip_06.pdf Which provides this update: "I ran into David Holmes who told me of a startling new development in his career - he's quit show business and become a Steward for Pan American Airlines! Apparently, he was so disappointed with the failure of his pilot "Boomtown Band and Cattle Company" that he decided to try his hand for some other line of work." That article was from Mar 1974, and I found a page from the October 1974 Tiger Beat, which starts to give an update on him, but since the website is all about David Cassidy, the next page isn't there and I couldn't find it. But if someone knows of a library subscription site that has Tiger Beat, maybe they'll track down the missing page. Sounds like a kid that had good representation to get him in the Teen mags, but never went anywhere and then went on with life in some other way. |

In one of the notes it mentioned he was playing Dick van Dyke’s son. But in the New Dick Van Dyke show, the son was played by 2 different actors. The San Diego “King and I” mentioned the name of a British actress who seemed to have been successful by 1971 or 1972 and would have been featured in local papers, but searching for her and the show turned up nothing.
Was there such a thing as fake profiles? It’s not like there was internet to verify. Or were they promoting things that just never panned out. The show that wasn’t picked up, a role that was recast.

No one had ever heard of him and it became a quest to find out why he was in the Tiger Bear magazine. Let me say up front I have no idea who this guy is but I got hooked looking for him last night because of this thread. I googled where is David Holmes & Tiger Beat and this 2peasrefugees board & this thread popped up😂
I also tried to find his sister as I thought we could find him through her. The only thing I found was a Julia Holmes in Beverly Hills who is the right age but that is a stretch and odds say she would have a married name by now.
