Wow! Thanks for sharing! I would so love to learn to quilt, but iI just don't have the time or space for another hobby right now! I do, however, have and proudly display three quilts that my great-grandmother made. One hangs over my DD's bed, one hangs in the playroom and one is over the couch in the family room. My fave from these pictures was the Twisted Dresden. My grandmother and I made a Dresden square one summer and made a pillow out of it.

Thank you for all the beautiful pics! You brought back good memories for me. My Mom and her mother, my grandmother LOVED quilts! My grandmother made nearly 100 after she retired from her job. Mom didn't really quilt, but she bought enough material to make hundreds!
Both my loved Mom and Grandmother are gone now...but my Grandmother's quilts (my share anyway) live in a good oak entertainment case (think before flat screen tv...) I have many twin and full sized quilts..a few queen sized. Many baby quilts and wall hangings.
When I was a teenager, I went to many quilt shows with Mom and Grandmother.
I tried to make a quilt once...but I HATE sewing of any kind. I love to paint and craft and scrapbook, but do NOT make me sew anything. I didn't get that gene.
My sister and I cherish the quilts our grandmother made...all by hand. We think we are wrapped up in her hug when we use one.

Thanks for sharing. I had a friend who went but she took all different photos so I got to see even more now. I was there a few years ago, it was so overwhelming with all the vendors and quilts - so much inspiration. And sore feet.
Glad you had a good time and took classes. You gave good advise to say not to wait until you are better. Take classes now - it's how you get better!

These people have fascinating lives. They may or may not have come up with the pattern themselves, but they did choose the colours and did all the work. The effort put in to these masterpieces is most impressive!

The three color quilt is my friends. Didn't they do a great job? They are working on a show quilt for 2016 and it's going to b fabulous too. Nice to know people that win prizes for their hard work. Pam

Pam That is awesome! My picture really did not do that quilt justice because it was just stunning up close. I overheard many people who were in awe that it only used 3 colors. I can't wait to see what they produce for next year! What do you mean, they only used three colors? I see yellow, orange, red, purple, and blue. Are the orange and blue created using different colored embroidery on top of the yellow fabric? And thanks so much for the great pics! I went to a small quilt show years ago in Lancaster, PA. I can't imagine going to a show as large as this one!

No, megmc, I haven't. I haven't really been involved in any kind of crafting for 10 years...too busy with life! I will google and look at some...thanks for the info!

Thanks for showing us these wonderful examples. I think my favourite is one of the last ones you uploaded, lots of yellows and golds. It looks like a beautiful autumn forest, and would bring warmth and light to any room.
